Belfast to Portugal/Spain My 2500 Mile Winter Sunshine Road Trip Begins! Van life Europe.
So my 3000 Mile road trip of a life time begins in my self built camper van, i start my journey in my self built camper van traveling from Belfast(uk) to Rosslare in Republic of Ireland, catching the ferry to Bilbao (Spain) then driving through Portugal and onto Spain stopping at places like Fatima, to see the Shrine of Fatima, and then down to Nazare, to catch a few of the biggest waves in the world, driving further to Faro the Algarve, Lisbon, Porto, and finally crossing the border in to Malaga, Cordoba, The old town of Granada, and finishing up in The old town of Valencia. Before making my way back to Bilbao to catch the Brittany ferry back to Ireland.The worse storms in 30 years that Portugal has had, Storm Kristin was a compact, catastrophic and record-breaking extratropical cyclone that severely impacted Portugal, as well as parts of the Mediterranean and Southeastern Europe in late January 2026. Storm Kristin was the twenty-sixth storm of the 2025-26 European windstorm season, and the eleventh to be named by the south-western naming group, which consists of France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg and off course i happen to be smack in the middle of it…
