From Geneva in Switzerland to Lyon in France by regional train through the Alps

The TER (regional train) between Geneva in Switzerland and Lyon in France is a great connection between two important international railway hubs in Europe from where on you find many domestic and international trains. Apart from that, this is a rather scenic railway journey through the Swiss and French Alps.
At first we discover the railway station of Geneva, then we explore the train and of course the views from the train along this route.

Trainline is great within serval European countries, you can also purchase several railpasses on the Trainline website. Please do note that especially local regional offers can be better deals, however for easy point to point tickets I personally really prefer Trainline. This link will only be published at the moment Trainline can be used for the video that you see and in most video’s I also mention booking websites / tips.

    1. 6:40 Well what I've learned is that as long as you are inside your country you don't need ID but it could mean that police need to take you to the station to check your identity so having an ID card makes everything easier.

    2. The main issue I have with Trainline is that they often don't offer the same level of possibilities to pick an exact seat , only preferences, even though the operators website offers the chance to pick seats airline style in the exact spot in the train you want.
