Making the Most of a 24‑Hour Layover in Iceland
Between our two connecting flights, we’re spending 24 hours in Reykjavík, Iceland’s capital, and the beautiful areas around it. We’ll grab the famous Icelandic hot dogs, unwind in the Blue Lagoon, wander through a geothermal park, and soak in those uniquely unearthly landscapes. Here’s what a full day in Reykjavík in winter really feels like. Let’s go! Allons-y!

In this episode, we show you exactly how to make the most of a 24‑hour stopover in Iceland.
Our itinerary:
• Blue Lagoon right after landing — the perfect way to reset after a long flight
• Overnight stay at Lighthouse Inn, Garður — a quiet, scenic base near Keflavík Airport
• Morning drive to Hveragerði
• Visit to The Geothermal Park (Hveragarðurinn) — hot springs, mud pools, and Iceland’s volcanic landscape up close
Relaxation, scenery, and geothermal wonders all packed into a quick stopover.
