Lost in the Clouds: The Yellow Train Adventure

Exploring the Iconic Little Yellow Train: From Medieval Villages to Stormy Peaks

This journey aboard the Petit Train Jaune (The Little Yellow Train) was an unforgettable experience, filled with striking contrasts and unexpected surprises.

Our adventure began in the morning at Villefranche-de-Conflent, officially one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France,” wandering through its medieval streets before climbing into the Pyrenees. From the vast, open plateaus of the Cerdagne to the thousand-year-old Romanesque church in Odeillo, every moment felt like a new world. We even had a lucky encounter with a wild deer crossing right next to the tracks!

The day took a dramatic turn on the way back as a summer storm rolled in—watching the landscape transform under the clouds and rain added a whole new layer of magic to the trip.
