Dubai used to be the world’s number one travel destination. 90 million passengers a year. The glamour, the gold, the skyline that looked like the future. Then March 2026 happened — drone strikes hit Dubai International Airport three times in two weeks. British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, and Cathay Pacific all suspended service. Over 19,000 flights were cancelled in a single week. And millions of tourists had one question: where do we go now?
    The answer? Malaysia.
In the same month Dubai’s runways were shutting down, Malaysia welcomed 2.8 million international visitors in just 26 days — a 2.4% increase from the year before. Visit Malaysia Year 2026 has set a target of 47 to 50 million tourists. And the world is finally paying attention.
In this video, we break down exactly why Dubai tourists are quietly making the switch to Malaysia — the luxury at a fraction of the price, the food culture no other country can replicate, the world-class infrastructure, the geography that cannot be manufactured, and the stability that speaks for itself.
This is not just a travel comparison. This is a shift. And Malaysia is at the centre of it.

    1. Don't be fooled. If you want to go to Malaysia, just go for vacation. Too hot humid. They only show you the glamorous part.

    2. The difference between Malaysia and UAE is that the UAE images itself as a tourism hotspot while Malaysia is building the country for all kinds of sectors. The tourism is just a side income.

    3. That's common sense, not because Malaysia is better than Dubai. Just that Dubai is not so habitable now due to the US-Israel and Iran war which has affected Dubai and the other GCC countries bigly….

    4. I travelled from london to malaysia and neighbouring countries every year lately. The problem now were the fares increases over £1000 either MAS or SIA instead of £750 including free 2 nights stopover at Abu Dhabi or Doha using Etihad and Qatar Airlines respectively? Usually I booked few months in advanced but now nonstop uncertainty. I gathered Chinese Airlines cheaper and different routes towards Mongolia but nobody speak English at Shanghai Pudong Airport.

    5. I lived in Dubai from the late 80's till the early 2000.Then migrated in KL.Malaysia lived there for 6 years then back to Dubai. Both Amazing and brilliant cities of UAE and Malaysia East and West. But due to the crisis in West Asia ,the best country to live or visit is KL.Malaysia and from there you can easily visit it's neighboring countries like Singapore ,Indonesia Thailand and Vietnam. If you wish Singapore first go to KL.Malaysia more cheaper for accommodations or Hotels then visit Singapore, you can explore Singapore in just one full hour.

    6. I have a friend, but not close friend she used to work here in GCC UAE, oman, Qatar but when the war started she left GCC and travel to malaysia but she works as prosti.😑 not a business holder shes a business woman they called🤑

    7. Welcome to Malaysia but tone down on the bling culture and excess. Malaysians don't appreciate show offs. If you cannot respect our peaceful and calm nature , give us a miss. 😊
