We went about an hour south of Flag in Happy Jack near Stoneman Lake and camped for 2 nights after a heavy snow storm. Every time we go in the winter we feel like we’re the only ones on the planet since everyone’s afraid of the cold. The other cool thing is you can just stick whatever food you brought (frozen or refrigerated) in the snow, drinks too, and everything is good to go. My friend and I both brought our dogs and played a lot of board games. Incredible experience.

These are beautiful!! when was it?
Man I miss northern Arizona. Lived in the east valley for 10 years. Northern AZ is magical all year long.
Wow,looks so great and such a handsome boy
Love it!
Nice!
Backpacking on the Catalina’s. We ended up staying in one spot for 4 days because we got about 2’ of snow in 24hrs and were already miles into the backcountry. Once the whiskey ran out and the sun showed itself again, we headed back the way we came.

Omg that looks so beautiful! I’ve always wanted to try winter camping but I’m totally scared lol, is it rough getting the tent set up in the snow? 🥶
I don’t even remember there being that many storms this year.
