Spent a couple nights at Lake Convict and it’s easily one of the prettiest spots I’ve camped. Super clear turquoise water with insane views of Mount Morrison right above you.Days were nice, nights got cold (bring layers). Some afternoon wind, calm mornings
Bugs weren’t bad yet. Standard campground (tables, fire rings, bear lockers, vault toilets). Did the loop trail (~3 miles) super easy and worth it the whole way. Gets busy on weekends so reservations help. Overall: super chill, high-reward spot without needing to hike in. Would 100% go back.
