This is the Basilica of St. Castor in Koblenz, one of the most beautiful churches in Germany. Originally built during the post-Carolingian era, the church was unfortunately almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. Despite this, it still stands as one of the most significant examples of Romanesque — later enriched with Gothic elements — architecture in the Rhine Valley, reflecting the region’s long and layered history
