Most Men Pick the Wrong Beach (Philippines)
#thailand #philippines #filipinas
If you’re thinking about coming to Southeast Asia for beaches, retirement, or even finding a partner, this video may completely change where you go.
We’re on location here in Boracay, Philippines, and we decided to do something most people don’t do—we compared it head-to-head against the best beach destinations in Southeast Asia.
In this video, we break down Boracay Philippines, Panglao Bohol, El Nido Palawan, Phuket Thailand, Da Nang Vietnam, and Bali Indonesia—and we’ll show you exactly how they stack up in the real world, not just on Instagram.
We talk about what actually matters when you’re planning a trip or considering a longer stay:
– The real cost of 4-star and 5-star hotels (including beachfront resorts like the Henann Hotel group)
– Airbnb options and what “above average” really looks like in each location
– Airport access, travel time, and how difficult it is to actually get to these places
– Restaurants, food quality, and whether you’ll find international options at reasonable prices
– Cultural excursions, day trips, and whether there’s anything to do beyond the beach
– The reality of crowds, noise, beach vendors, and tourist pressure
– Safety, comfort, and overall lifestyle feel
We also touch on other Philippine destinations like Siquijor, which offer a very different experience if you’re looking for something quieter and more authentic.
This isn’t a highlight reel. It’s a practical breakdown designed for men who are thinking seriously about travel, retirement, or spending extended time in Southeast Asia.
If you’re in your 50s, 60s, or 70s and considering a trip to the Philippines or anywhere in Southeast Asia, the differences between these locations matter more than you think—and choosing the wrong one can cost you time, money, and a lot of frustration.
Some of these places are incredible. Others look better online than they do in real life.
We’ll show you both.
If you’re planning a trip, thinking about relocating, or just exploring what life could look like out here, this video will give you a much clearer picture of where you should—and shouldn’t—go.
For those of you who want a deeper look at relationships, travel strategy, or how to approach life in the Philippines, we do offer consultations and additional resources through the channel.
And if you haven’t already, check out our book “Fly Me to the Philippines,” where we go much deeper into travel, dating, relocation, and building a life here the right way.

We’ve seen what works… and what goes wrong.
Better to get it right the first time.
Been there in December and loved it.
Is boracay really that empty or is it getting full of people ? Is the water cold?
Check out Salangdoong Beach on Siquior Island.
Once they build the bridge to Boracay it will be ruined by tourists, garbage and polluted water.
I live in boracay now. Newcoast. 2 nearby beautiful semi private beaches on the property and Puka beach also walking distance. Rent is 25% cheaper than Cebu. Air quality is great. Amazing restaurants and great sunsets and night life. Why live in the Philippines if not in a place like this?
Been to borocay a few times years ago but the hassle factor and the prices have gotten out of control. I’d take Phuket any day. I’m in Danang now spending five months here Vietnam is the best. It outshines the Philippines in so many ways. Have you been here ?
Say no to tattoos.
i like this format for you guys. Great content!
Chrissy is a natural beauty. No modifications needed
A month or 2 ago Boracay had a ton of green algea its not always pretty
Thanks!
Great video guys. Im still with the fishermans daughter down the coast in Nabas. 2 of her brothers are security guards in Boracay and another is at Caticlan. I plan on returning in November if things hang together.
Love this beach report! But would have enjoyed more food pics and review. Even really quickly…love that braided hair look on Chrissy! I want to learn to kite surf the other side of the island has that! It's hard to beat the food in Thailand! Phuket is not the best beach I'd recommend getting on the islands Raleiy Beach, Ko Phi Phi, my favorite destination in Thailand!
Right company is always a big plus.
PLEASE, Chrissy – NO TATTOOS!
You are way too high class for that.
Hello?!? Tattoos?
Happy for you two living your best life! Great video!
There is only ONE Hennan, that is Crystal Sands Resort.
End of story….
When did Chrissy get the shoulder tatoo??
Dang! Missed you guys by a week! I was just there at the Mandarin Bay. Thought Mandarin's buffet was better, less congested. Way less algae in just 10 days there from the video. Would've been cool to run into you. My LDR is a teacher in Mindanao. Oh well, until next year's vacation. Thinking Iloilo and Bohol. Did BGC and Boracay this time. IT Park and Puerta Princessa last time. Take care.
Wow🎉 Beautiful beaches ⛱️
Boracay is the best! I've been living here for the last two years, wouldn't want to live anywhere else! It's the best combination of small island province living with the perfect amount of urbanization!
Welcome to my beautiful island of Boracay 💕🌴🌴🌴
It's tough to decide if Thailand has the best beaches or the Philippines. The one big difference though ….it is much easier to access the beaches in Thailand than in the Philippines. The Philippines lack the infrastructure and number of airports to get you to some of their best beaches.
Carabao island next to boracay is absolutely stunning also
Panglao is my favorite beach maybe because I live so close to Panglao
$200 a night wow expensive for the Philippines but beautiful. What would bean estimated budget for a good hotel and food and some activites for 3 nights and is that enough time? I usually try to keep my airbnb hotel budget to $60-80 per night on a 30 day trip this might break my budget lol.
What does "Beach touts" mean in some of your cons lists?
What a great video thank you for sharing. My wife and I have been watching so many videos lately about the Philippine beaches, we just can’t wait for this AOS status to be completed so we can go back. And as far as the henna tattoo goes . I have to say I was shocked to see that on your shoulder, thinking how in the world did I ever miss that. 😂😂😂
You two are fun. That's it. 😆
From 18:51 to 18:56
I'll have to brush off/recall my high school German 1 and German 2 classes from the late 80's. 😂
I really appreciate this beaches comparison video. You did Boracay really well. Felt like I was there.
This confirms (from videos) what I previously assumed, that Boracay would ve the Best beach for me.
How does Camiguin Island rank up there with the other three Philippines beaches you mentioned❓
