Have dined at Atomix several times but this was my first experience at the Bar tasting. Thoroughly enjoyed, particularly at the price point. It's not Chef JP's menu – there's a separate chef and team that focus solely on the bar but rotate between both at times. Interestingly, they debuted this menu a few days ago and the Bar chef left the restaurant almost immediately afterwards.

Everything is prepared directly at the bar in front of diners – a superb opportunity to watch, more than anything, the art of plating. Cooking tools are limited to an induction countertop burner and their knives so dishes are planned and prepped for these limitations. Plating the mise en place is a big part of the show.

No real miss dishes for me. A lot of punchy flavors, particularly the acids. The strawberry/rhubarb oil on the trout dish was fantastic as was the chili oil on the sea bream. Strong sauce work that complimented good protiens and some sick knifework.

Overall would recommend!
