1,600km Awaits | The Day Before My Camino Pilgrimage Begins
Exploring Le Puy-en-Velay | Day Before the Camino de Santiago Begins
In this video, I explore Le Puy-en-Velay, France, the historic starting point of the Camino de Santiago (Via Podiensis), on the day before beginning my 1,600-kilometer pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and Finisterre (the end of the world).
This Camino travel vlog covers Day 2 and Day 3 in Le Puy-en-Velay. On Day 2, I arrive at the Le Puy-en-Velay train station, check in at the Grand Séminaire, and pick up my Pilgrim’s Credential—a key step for every Camino pilgrim.
On Day 3, I explore the most important pilgrimage sites in Le Puy-en-Velay, including the Cathedral of Notre-Dame du Puy, the Statue de la Vierge (Notre-Dame de France) overlooking the city, and the dramatic Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe chapel built on an ancient volcanic rock.
I stay at the Grand Séminaire for two nights, meet fellow pilgrims, and take time to reflect before starting the Camino. Tomorrow, I begin walking the Camino de Santiago—1,600 kilometers across France and Spain to Santiago de Compostela, and onward to Finisterre.
If you’re interested in Camino de Santiago preparation, Le Puy-en-Velay travel, pilgrimage planning, or what the day before the Camino looks like, this video is for you.

Buen Camino Jeff! Le Puy is bigger than I thought it would be. And that's a very nice and interesting mechanism/beginning of the way in the cathedral there, I have not seen that before.
