Oh dear Bob & Jenny, how dreadful for you! I'm so sorry that this has happened. All the best & hope you will soon be back to your usual self! We are currently at Luss caravan and campsite. Tomorrow we are moving on to Silversands caravan park, Arisaig which is virtually next door to the cl site.
Hi Bob, I wish you a speedy recovery, not sure if you have covered this or not (sorry if you have) what is the site/app you use to log your journey etc on your laptop, it’s very good and something I’d like to try.

I bet you are glad you have an automatic in your motorhome. Will Jenny be able to drive the Up when back home?
Really sorry you had to cut your holiday short but as long as you’re both ok, that’s the main thing.

Hi you two (sometimes four) I hope you are all home by now, and getting sorted. I know your Mo-Ho is automatic and it's your left foot which is badly, so at least you are able to drive it. Your little car might have to have a short rest. Speaking of feet etc, I think God issued us with two of a lot of parts just incase accidents happen. Speedy recovery Bob, and hopefully back to a more normal existence soon. All the best from Halifax (Yorkshire, not Nova Scotia)

I used to suffer with achilles tendon soreness in my old footy days ………but to rupture one must be complete agony !!

Thanks for the update Bob we were worried. I must say though I need to have a word with my husband as I do all those jobs normally haha. He does all the motorhome driving and I do most other things as part of our normal routine because of that.
Hopefully you will be home safely now and resting. It will be such a worry about your Mums appointments and having caring responsibilities too so I hope you manage to get someone to help you Bob as it’s a lot you take on.

Hi Bob, I snapped my achilles when I was 18 (many years ago), so know what you are going through. Just take it steady, the physio after the plaster was removed was as long as the pot was on! Good on ya Jenny for picking up the slack 😁. Take care and drive safe.
Glad you are getting to some of your favourite places -hats off to Jenny taking up the additional chores – I know how difficult it is when you suddenly become unable to do what you take for granted, that's when you find out how resilient you are and how wonderful your partner is ❤

We spent a night prior to taking the return ferry journey back to the main land in exactly the same plot which has water on tap…., flew my drone from the beach in front of pitch 2. Done Port Nan Gael too for 4 nights on pitch 26 done the same from its beach there too! Did the day trip over to Iona which was a treat in beautiful sunshine and really warm weather!

I’m an A&E nurse and you will find things much easier when you get into a boot if a TA rupture is confirmed because then you will be able to weight bear. This has been a lesson to us to make sure that we both know how to do the jobs.

You look very tired Bob. Jenny I can imagine what was going thru your mind when Bob fell. How am I going to cope with all the chores? So far you're doing great. Hopefully you will do some campsites. See ya on the next one.

Oh I'm so happy you've managed to keep some of your trip. I'm on crutches after many years in a wheelchair, the main drawback is carrying things, it's a royal pain but great being more mobile at the same time.
You've just taught me something about wilder trips with the cost of campsites in the drop down menu. I found it super useful on our Scottish Highlands trip this Easter, it's a great overview. Hopefully you will mend up soon. 😊

Hello Bob and Jenny, pleased to see you are both looking a bit less stressed, hope the scan went ok.
I stayed at the Shielings Campsite in 2006, it all looks very familiar. Nice to see it’s still up and running. We stayed in a v large tent with shower, toilet and heating, miraculously it kept the midges out (early June).

You are both inspirational, in adapting and being so positive in really bad circumstances. Jenny, you are doing a great job. I do wish you a really swift recovery Bob. Its horrible having to be stuck at home and being patient with yourself.
Wishing you a very speedy recovery Bob. Well done to Jenny for taking on all the extra chores. It’s a steep learning curve when you suddenly have to take on all the things your partner normally does in addition to your own things. It often seems that with couples it’s the man who deals with the outside jobs and mechanical side of motorhome life. I know that was the case when my husband was alive. I usually dealt with the chores inside plus researching campsites etc. Since holidaying alone and having to do everything connected with a motor home by myself ( helped by some very useful videos you made Bob) other ladies have said to me that they too have an inside outside split in chores. It does get easier Jenny! Things that took me ages and reduced me to tears initially I do more confidently. I now go to sites with onsite wardens which does reduce my choice but makes me feel safer. Fellow motorhomers have also helped me out on occasions too. I really hope you both enjoy the remainder of your altered holiday. Thank you for sharing your travels

Bob we are at barnard castle from the 13th May for 5 nights if you need a short break would be happy to meet you there and give you a hand for a few days.
So unfortunate that this has happened to you Bob, but as Jenny says it could have been worse.
