Strasbourg France Travel Guide 4K | Best Things to Do
Strasbourg is one of the most unique cities in France, located right on the border with Germany. In this 4K travel guide, we explore the best things to see in Strasbourg, from the historic center and the famous Strasbourg Cathedral to Petite France, canals, and the European district.
The old town of Strasbourg, known as the Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most beautiful areas in the region. You’ll also see iconic spots like Barrage Vauban, the Covered Bridges, and Parc de l’Orangerie, home to the famous Alsace storks.
If you’re visiting in winter, Strasbourg is also known as the “Capital of Christmas,” with some of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe. The entire city transforms with lights, stalls, and a very lively atmosphere.
We also included a day trip to Colmar, one of the most picturesque towns in Alsace, known for its colorful houses, canals, and compact old town. Nearby villages like Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr are also worth visiting if you have more time.
This guide is designed to help you plan your visit and get a clear idea of what to see in Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsace region.

If you’re visiting for the first time, focus on the historic center, the cathedral, and Petite France — all within walking distance. For a different perspective, a short boat tour can help you understand how the city is laid out.
Colmar is about 30 minutes away by train and works well as a day trip if you have extra time.
If you’re coming in winter, expect large crowds around the Christmas markets, especially near the cathedral — earlier hours are usually a bit calmer.
Danke!
