Does Bicycle Touring Get More Beautiful Than This?

This episode takes us through several days as we bicycle through the last of The Romantic Road. Some of the gloom and damp give way to sunnier weather, but still chilly. The landscapes are straight out of Tolkein, as we leave Rothenburg for Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, the three crown jewels of the Romantic Road. But the weeks of inclement weather have left Julianna with a bad cold, and as we reach the Danube, we need to take some days to let her heal. With the climb over the Alps just over the horizon, we find a spot in Donauworth to stop and chill for a few days before next episode’s grand adventure.

If you’re interested in checking out our planned route, we’ve included a link below. Bear in mind that we took deviations from time to time which might not be shown here, but this is 99% accurate.

    1. Lovely, it's now on my short bucket list. There is something about the wooden stairs of old hotels, the squeak, that brings back pleasant tour memories. Thanks much for sharing.

    2. Thank you very much for all of your videos! I love dicovering 'my' country trough the eyes of another culture and next time on my bike trough the Eifel by rain I will try to find it beautyful too😂.
      Good luck e Bonn

    3. Ah Doners… did you not know about them? Perfect ride food, really tasty, and one of those universal names. I love them on my long distance rides. I managed to get one in each nation I toured through last year!

    4. Congratulations to you both! Not for just getting married but also for all the hard pedalling. This trip really has turned into an epic bike tour, really enjoying it.
      Get well soon Julianna!

    5. A little technical tip: Your videos were recorded at 30 fps and edited at 24 fps. This leads to clearly visible jerking, as every fifth frame is skipped during video editing. I've heard from other YouTubers that you absolutely have to edit at 24 fps for YouTube. This is complete nonsense. It is best to edit at the frame rate at which the recordings were made. Youtube accepts all common frame rates.
