Trequanda is a small medieval village in southern Tuscany, located between the Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi landscapes.
The area was inhabited since Etruscan and Roman times, thanks to its strategic position along ancient rural routes.
The village developed during the Middle Ages around a fortified settlement controlled by the powerful Republic of Siena.
Its historic center still preserves stone streets, narrow alleys, and defensive structures typical of Tuscan hill towns.
One of the main landmarks is the Church of Saints Peter and Andrew, rebuilt in Renaissance style with an elegant travertine façade.
Trequanda later became linked to noble Sienese families, who contributed to the construction of palaces and religious buildings.
The surrounding countryside is famous for olive groves, vineyards, and traditional Tuscan farms spread across rolling hills.
Today Trequanda is appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere, historic architecture, and panoramic views over the Tuscan landscape.
