Spent Memorial Day weekend camping at Coolidge State Park in VT.

The weather didn’t cooperate much – the whole weekend almost felt more like Thanksgiving.

We kept dry in the leanto, passing the time with some good food, games, and hiking in the area.

May is one of my favorite times to be in the forest. The weather is still cool and breezy, and the forest floor is dotted with wildflowers and greenery.

So pretty! I have to ask: how were the ticks? I’m hearing it’s getting worse in the NE and we’re now only going hiking after the first frost. I have an epileptic dog that can’t be around tick repellent products.

I love finding the Trilliums when I’m out in the woods this time of year!
