Roland & Julianna: A Bicycle Tour Across Europe PART 9: TRIER
A beautiful bike ride through Sudeifel National Park leads us along the Prüm river valley, to the border with Luxembourg. Why not? One more country to put on our list! We follow the Sauer River until it empties into the Mosel. then along the Mosel into Trier, with its magnificent medieval and Roman architecture and artifacts. Another spectacular day on the Happy Trail.
If you’re interested in checking out our planned route, we’ve included a link below. Bear in mind that we took deviations from time to time which might not be shown here, but this is 99% accurate!

looking forward to another episode … until next weekend ❤️
Lovely again!!! Would you mind sharing all of your lodging accommodations along the way in a list?
Greetings again from Australia. After following your previous episodes through Europe with Nadia and husband along the Garonne and Canal Di Midi we are very excited to follow this current trip your on from Trier to Koblenz as my wife and I are doing the same trip in a couple of months on bikes we are renting in Trier ( Ebikes we cheat )…. Make sure to spend a bit of time in Beilstein about 4.5 hours from Trier on the Moselle. Its a beautiful little town. Very small. Thanks for sharing your trip. Max and Fiona.
Vous n'avez pas de chance avec le temps cette année…. beaucoup de pluie.
Happy Valentine's day to you two. Nice video as always, bringing such nice memories of camping along the Moselle river.
I can’t understand why people laugh when they look at cycling as a method of transportation, I get the same locally to me, my nearest supermarket is approximately 1.5 miles away, yet the derogatory comments I get when I cycle to do a shop, also the comments I get when I ride one of my two folding bikes, a Birdy and a Brompton, some of them are “Why are you riding a child’s bike” or “That’s a small bike” when I tell them to look online and check out the prices, I usually ask “Would you pay that for a child’s bike”
Graffiti isn’t an American export. If you go to Pompeii there is graffiti written and carved by romans into the walls
As usual , it looks like great fun.
I sure hope that you get some nice weather soon! But, even though the weather is poor, the scenery makes up for it. Hope you two have a great Valentine's day. Take care.
Thanks for sharing your journey. We planning the reverse trip later this year on our tandem, from Venice to Rotterdam, then ferry back to the UK. We plan to camp most of the time, but would like to know how far in advance you book your accommodation?
Trier, where Karl Marx was born in 1818.
Another beautiful video! Thank you!
We did Trier to Koblenz in ‘23 and Trier to Dijon in ‘24. Bern kausel was one of the highlights where we discovered a stations of the cross trail that led to a beautiful tiny chapel. So excited for the next few episodes of your trip. Thank you so much for posting these. Stu & Naomi Australia.
So how did you pack your bikes to prepare them for Amsterdam? Did you self pack them in a cardboard box? Also, how did you get your bikes back from Venice?
Guys, everything ok? Was hoping to find your new video last weekend… all
the best.
I bet you just wished you could be in your tent listening to that heavy rain👍
