Yes, many places in France do have AC, but it’s not the same as air conditioning in the US.

That's why we keep the thermostat at home at 78 during summer – not freezing but definitely cooler than the 90-100 degree temps outside. Office buildings and other public places are kept too cold during summer imho

I love Europe but I’m glad I’m in American when is hot over there I really love the American comfort here have my central a/c 😅

I love our cold frigid AC. When you are a woman with fluctuating hormones that make you feel on fire on the inside, that frigid AC is the only thing that gets us through. It can be 72F outside or 62 but I always have my thermostat at 68 year round and when I get that flash of hot I'm on fire inside I bring it down to 66. Good thing I visited Paris in May. I'd be so miserable in the heat.

Our work office is on a general unit for the building and the owners control it. The sun hits our office in the morning to noon and our windows don't open… we are roasting in an oven. We are going to move office to a stand alone because it's bs to pay for such a hot office. They say the AC is on and it may be cold for those on the other side, but for those who get the sun in their windows, you may as well work outside.

This should be interesting. My wife and I are flying to Paris here in two weeks for a river cruise up the Seine up to Normandy. I’m not very much worried about the heat though. We live in Arizona where this time of year it’s 110° F or more.

Hot enough here in Arizona USA. We go to Paris from December to March to experience true winter.

I hate super cold AC. Most people cool their places colder than they’d have it in winter. And I have to bring jacket to wear indoors. It’s so annoying

The reason the air is kept colder is to rid it of the humidity. The humidity allows germs to grow and things become ruined by the humidity and rot or becomes damaged. That's the reason hospitals are kept so cold and dry and you become thirsty in a hospital. If air conditioning is only allowed to cool a little, the closed windows will cause the not so cold air to become musty. So not only is the air conditioning then not drying the air, but there is also no fresh air flowing. Papers and wood become damaged from the humidity. Either turn down the temperature, or open the windows.

My son is a quadriplegic who, besides having a body that is paralyzed from the neck down, it also can’t regulate body temperature. If he had to stay in a building at 85 degrees he would end up with heatstroke in no time. I’ve always wondered how folks with spinal cord injuries manage in places that don’t have excellent temperature management throughout the seasons but particularly in the hot weather.

Then climatiser isn’t worth anything – LOL

With the most visited destination on earth, it’s time the French should think of making the tourists more accommodating or risk losing tourist to other destinations.

Or you can avoid France, and Europe, in the summer. I prefer travelling in October/November – quieter, cheaper, cooler 🇦🇺🇨🇵

😳 It’s getting hard to pinpoint a time to visit with the kiddos school breaks. Early March I see it’s cold and rainy and living in Texas, we need our cold ac for the summer

They are cheap and don't want to pay electricity, French people will reduce showering to save money

I'd rather be too cold than too hot. To me it's strange to have the AC on but it's still 85F inside. And when others complain the AC is too cold, I feel it's perfect! ❄️
