Nahh EP07 better😉
If only the ticket prices were more affordable… Apart from a couple of minutes faster, one gets not much more, than a typical IC Stadler FLIRT.
Nice and calm.. try uk hospitality 😮 good luck if you accept 👍
100 years of PKP and 25 years of PKP Intercity in 2026.
Haver you ridden the new RegioFox trains yet at all? I heard that they're pretty good. 😀
That was shot a year ago😮! First class for the soviet era😁. No leg space, cheap plastic material🥳
I have an interesting suggestion for a train review- In Slovakia there is a preserved EM488 Electric unit built in the 1970s, which runs occasionally around the Kosice area (but dates can be found on a website I can provide). Recently it even visited Southern Poland! Thank you for making these trip reports of Poland, they are absolutely great. 👍🏻 😊
WARS food offerings always look good. Wish we had them here!
imo kraków główny is the second worst station in poland behind poznań główny, as that is the only station that's worse to navigate than kraków główny. my mom, who is very accustomed to traveling by train as she does it regularly, managed to once get lost in the underpasses and almost missed a train which fittigly was also a pendolino to warsaw.
You were also able to ride this train between Bohumín and Prague from March to June this year, as the train was doing trial runs for its Czechia license!
Good video! Are you planning to try Finland's new sm7 commuter train? It will be in service sometime in late summer.
All Stadler trains are manufactured at Stadler factory in Siedlce in Eastern Poland.
Ja maksmymalnie jechałem 199 km/h.
Nice video!
My favorite pendolino m, fun fact: these Alstom New Pendolinos are also used in China, Spain, Switzerland and Italy
Średnia prędkość 120km/h .
I czym tu sie chwalić ?
People don't use it because it is too expensive.
I don't think Pendolino should be described as a "flagship" train. I know that Pendolino looks good and is fast (although this is largely due to priority dispatching), but there are many trains and railcar types in Poland that offer more space, privacy, and comfort. 🤷
I`m not sure if I`m crazy but it feels like you were talking a little slower in this video. Still enjoyed it and great video as always though!
Going to try it from Warsaw to Gdansk in September I'm excited
Great video Simon. Also will you post one day a video of travelling in the greek railway when our alstom coradia stream's arrive?
I hate these trains. Back to the old good days you could smoke and drink, play cards and guitar, sing a anti-communist songs. The journey lasted longer but was way much entertaining.
Just to be clear, ERTMS is not the signalling system here, this is ETCS. ERTMS is the whole of ETCS, GSMR (FRCMS in the future) and TSI rules and regulations.
I hope they repair the CMK and bring 200 kmh Topspeed back. Now it's mostly just for 160 kmh. I hope it's getting better soon
142,50 for first class on this route seems incredible. I have student discount (50%) and I still have to pay like 90 for 2nd class most of the time
I'm missing your happy face talking into the camera.
Was interesting to see how Poland is doing with their "high speed" trains given currently undergoing Rail Baltic project that eventually should connect also to Poland and create this magical corridor for trains from Portugal up to Finland?
Seems that Poland is doing as good as Baltic countries – rail is there but high speed is not. In addition to that I bet Poland overpaid quite a lot for a train that can go 250 km/h and does only 160 km/h and probably will not function for too long when potentially higher speeds will be available on route.
Still hope to see one day an option for such a long distance train ride similar to one you did by bus.
Absolutely love how polish trains almost always leave on time.
4:35 Such luxury that the coffee is actually served in a real cup and not in some horrible paper or plastic – same goes for the food on a real plate a little later.
Wait! The train displays Chopin's music when it arrives at the station?
Compartment is called family room
7:46 It remember's me of the Old ÖBB Railjet's 2nd class trains (:…. . . . . . .. … . <3).
Now vmax in CMK is 200 km/h in some parts of the line.
Hi, the owner of Regiojet went on the Metrobus podcast and he basically said, that PKP were undercutting Regiojet when they had similar departure times, so that is going to the anti monopoly institute. Plus they still have not got a proper depo, which they bought from PKP cargo, which has not been handed off yet. Couple that with a lack of employees and they could not stay on the Polish market for long, but they do want to return. Btw, on that same podcast, he said that there will be a line from Prague to Munich, so we wont have to deal with Alex anymore 🙂
Overall a really solid train. Having the second class reading light installed between the seats is quite unusual, normally you only find that in first class. I am wondering why the seat pocket was designed that way. Was it primarily designed to fit some railway magazine, or these paper folders, that show your journey and connections? Or maybe also with newspapers in mind?
Was the Chopin melody at the end part of the announcement?
must've been an old video as the store @ 1:13 is being renovated for bout a month now lolol
Try Northern Irelands railway
btw simon why did some of your video or maybe this one why didnt you used a speedometer app to measure how fast the train was going ? cuz we may not know how fast the train was going
Krakow used to have a beautiful main station. Now it is just somewhere you get lost trying to find haha
Krakow Main Sttion reminds me of New York Penn Station after it was demolished and pushed underground. We call it the "rathole".
Good looking train
Bravo to Poland. So happy you're doing well.
I agree with your Krakow station observations, it's not a bad station but it feels a bit dingy and it feels a bit dated, it could do with a lot more natural light and a renovation but having the shopping centre there is quite convenient.
Krakow station is very similar to Japanese train stations. Functional but bad vibes due to being buried underneath a shopping mall
