CHANIA | Tour of INCREDIBLE Chania, Crete, Greece [4K Walking Tour]
Come with me as we head through the Old Town for a look around the Venetian Harbour of this amazing tourist destination. We’ll check out the lighthouse as well as the restaurants, bars, shops and hotels to see what Chania is really like for a holiday..
The island of Crete is an amazing place for a walking tour and perhaps the most popular destination on the island is Chania, famous for it’s maze of cute streets, incredible food, and of course the historic Venetian Harbour. Let’s take a look around and see why so many tourists and holidaymakers head for Chania.
If you are planning a holiday to Crete, Greece and searching for the ultimate Crete travel guide, Chania Venetian Harbour is an absolute must visit. Built in the 14th century, this historic Chania landmark looks straight out of a postcard, with colorful Venetian architecture lining the waterfront and the iconic Venetian Lighthouse standing tall at the entrance.
Taking a scenic coastal walk along the harbour wall out to the Chania lighthouse is one of the best things to do in Chania Crete, offering incredible Mediterranean views and endless photo opportunities. Whether you are filming a 4K walking tour or taking in the sights, your camera roll will fill up instantly. When evening arrives, the atmosphere transforms into one of the top nightlife and dining spots in Chania Old Town.
The vibrant harbour promenade comes alive with locals and tourists enjoying a walking tour, while traditional Greek tavernas and waterfront restaurants serve up fresh seafood and authentic Cretan food. Relaxing at a seaside cafe with a cold local beer, tasting fresh calamari, and watching the sun set over the Aegean Sea is a highlight of any Greece travel vlog.
Do not forget to try the complimentary shot of tsikoudia, the traditional Cretan raki served after your meal.Beyond the main waterfront promenade, the real secret to exploring Chania Greece is wandering into the maze of narrow cobblestone alleyways in the historic Old Town.
Tucked directly behind the Venetian Port, these picturesque streets feature bright pink bougainvillea, local artisan shops selling handmade leather goods, and hidden cafes. You do not need a strict travel itinerary or a map here; simply follow the scent of fresh Greek herbs, explore the historic architecture, and enjoy the authentic Cretan island lifestyle.

Hi neil
I have shared on facebook
A fantastic video
Love it. But i wonder , do you travel there (for the 2nd time this year) for making Walking Tour Videos in the first place or rather for holiday reasons , and the videos in the 2nd place ? Nevertheless i love them . Makes the waiting time til september so much better to see what we can expect then . Is Hersonissos also on your bucket list this time ?
We were there in September 2024 and really enjoyed both the somewhat milder weather and the reduced crowds.
Great to see more of Crete and the Old Town of Chania and until next time
thank you Neil.👋
