Exploring Medieval Rouen, France | Beautiful City… Disappointing Airbnb!

This is the first part of the Rouen stopover which got lost, so you may have already seen the second part last week, and the week before… doh!
Join us as we arrive in the beautiful medieval city of Rouen, Normandy, during our 21-day road trip around France. Unfortunately, our Airbnb turns out to be one of the biggest disappointments of the entire journey, proving that online reviews don’t always tell the full story!

Despite our accommodation woes, Rouen more than makes up for it. We wander through its stunning cobbled streets, admire the incredible half-timbered buildings, soak up the atmosphere of the bustling old town, and discover why this is one of France’s most historic cities.

We also visit the place where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in 1431, explore the magnificent Rouen Cathedral, and take in the sights and sounds of this fascinating Norman city that inspired artists such as Claude Monet.

Sometimes it’s the places you least expect that become the highlights of a trip, and Rouen certainly left a lasting impression—even if the Airbnb didn’t!

If you enjoy honest travel adventures, we’d love you to join us on our journey.
