Visiting MONTPELLIER – Fairytale Town in FRANCE

I visited Montpellier (from Australia) in 2010. I specifically went to see the Montpellier Codex, a 13th century Codex of more than 300 medieval polyphonic motets, housed in the Medical library at the university. Unfortunately, the codex was too delicate for display, but they had these new-fangled things called CD-ROMs that contained all of the music and ancillary information, and the wonderful lady in charge got out an ancient windows box and showed it to me. I bought a copy and spent many delightful hours diving into it when back in Australia. 😄
