When I asked my Japanese wife why there weren't any trash cans in the park near our in-laws place she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "because you have bring your trash home!" Edit "Also, probably a little inconvenient" are probably the truest words about Japan, especially rural Japan, but it's so beautiful!

Refreshing to see a video in Japan, cycling around Japan, by people who (I don't mean this in a mean way) have little to no clue about the country. As someone who's going there every year and lived there, it's always fun to watch someone who's not seen it all yet. Rare in todays YouTube world lol.
We just got back from 3 weeks in Japan, can't wait to go back w/ our bikes! great episode, excited for the next. Kanazawa was a fun town for us but would have been better on bikes.
Great video. I have one question. Is it safe/easy to find places to park your bikes? I'm planning a bikepacking tour in Japan and coming from a violent country I wonder if it would be ok to park bike even with panniers. Thank you for your video.
