India’s Forgotten Silk Route | Exploring East Sikkim: Zuluk & Nathang

We travelled through the remote border villages of East Sikkim, following the old Silk Route from Zuluk to Nathang and beyond.

From Zuluk’s legendary hairpin roads to life in Nathang village, Kupup Lake and the winding roads through the mountains, this was a journey into one of the lesser-explored corners of Sikkim.

    2. The beauty of both the places Zuluk and Nathang plateau is simply mesmerising. Roughly 30 nos. of hair pin bends laid out in the Nathang, speak the quantum of business that was in vogue in the past by Tibetan traders. Naturally, the tough life being faced by the inhabitants in Nathang during severe winters is very hostile challenging. As informed by one of the inhabitants, the food stuff is required to be stored for about 3-4 months to keep the hostile environment at bay. Undoubtedly, the place is too amazing and still remains untouched by the filthy invasion.. It's required to be maintained…Beautiful Abhishek..
