We joined up with HOKA for UTMB week to test ourselves and put their newest shoes through a real world Gear Lab review. Joining Ben O’Meara at UTMB week in Chamonix is HOKA’s Louis Savona, a trail runner attempting the brutal 100-kilometer CCC just ten months after a near-fatal 100-foot fall off of a mountain. Pushed to their absolute limits, Louis faces sideways rain, hail, and screaming quads, while Ben battles massive descents and a highly regrettable mid-race cocktail of Coke and pickle juice during his 40-kilometer MCC race. With mountain storms raging and their bodies breaking down miles from the finish, it becomes a pure battle of will against the mountain.
