The camping trip in Fall that I was looking forward to since it's not pleasant to sleep without AC in the summer. We spent two nights at the Shenandoah River State Park and visited the Shenandoah National Park while we were there.
It rained a bit on the Friday night but weather on Saturday was perfect. 43F low in the morning with freeze warning but the Bass Pro Shops Hercules 20F sleeping bags paired with Intex air mattress kept us warm and cozy. Getting out of bed was the hardest part.
Gazelle T3X tent paired with G5 gazebo as the living/ cooking area. Would definitely recommend the wind panels for the gazebo to guard off the cold wind.
Shenandoah River State Park, like other Virginia State Parks, are very welcoming, well maintained, and staffed with friendly rangers.
Edit: Battery string light used, appeared brighter due to long exposure when taking the photo.

Are you afraid of the dark?
Screened in gazebo in fall?
I’ve noticed some of the western NP are embracing dark skies, minimum lights. Better night time sky viewing. Think they have a point. For myself I dont do lights because they attract bugs.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing — I could feel the peace from here!!!
