🏰 A little history

Eze began as a Ligurian settlement, and legend links its name to the Egyptian goddess Isis 🔱
In the Middle Ages the village became a fortress against pirate raids ⚔️
In 1706 the castle was dismantled on the orders of Louis XIV. Only ruins remained 💔
Eze belonged to the Savoy lands until 1860, when it became part of France 🇫🇷
In 1883 Friedrich Nietzsche climbed the steep path from the sea to Eze, where he drew inspiration for Thus Spoke Zarathustra 📖

🌵 The Exotic Garden today
Where the castle once stood, the Jardin Exotique d’Èze now grows, created in 1949 among the ruins. Cacti and succulents from around the world stand against a panorama of the sea, Cap Ferrat and the coast. 🌊 The ruins of a fortress have turned into a garden in the sky. 💚

🏘️ Èze now
Stone alleys, hidden courtyards, art galleries, tiny boutiques, and luxury hotels in medieval houses. The village is the same, but life flows quietly through it, like in a painting. 🎨☀️
