Hidden deep in France, surrounded by an overgrown forest and gardens slowly reclaimed by nature, stands an enormous abandoned castle with a history far darker than its beautiful appearance suggests. 🏰🇫🇷

Once home to a wealthy family of French wine and spirits merchants, this magnificent château was a place of luxury, prestige, and generations of family life.

But today, its grand rooms stand silent.

Inside, almost everything remains. Beautiful antique furniture, fully furnished bedrooms, family portraits, personal belongings, and letters dating back more than a century.

It’s as though the people who once called this place home simply walked away, leaving their entire world behind.

    But what happened to them?

During this exploration, we begin uncovering the remarkable history of the family that once owned this estate. From handwritten correspondence and forgotten photographs to an unexpected document connected to President Roosevelt, every discovery brings another piece of the château’s past to light.

Yet, how could a château that once represented so much wealth, success, and family history end up completely abandoned?

Join me as we explore this extraordinary forgotten piece of French heritage and attempt to uncover the story behind its beautiful walls.

    1. "France" I always get absorbed in the explorations in the country. This place is no exception to the rule. The Sleigh beds, the tiles, the Stained glass. The countryside itself. Being a lover of antiques this place is just so interesting. Always a testimony to the fact that no matter how much wealth a person has amassed the old adage "You can't take it with you is always the case. But still I'm left wondering isn't there just one soul that cares about this place? Distant family members even? I know it's a great expense to renovate such places but why are the pictures and very beautiful antiquities still left behind? Possibly claimed by the country. At any rate as usual you always put your time and great efforts into your explorations to bring to all your viewers an idea of how this family lived. Giving us an idea of perhaps who they were. And explaining the surroundings of which you explore. The reverberating question of "how must it had felt to grow up in such a place?" It makes a person think. what was this place all about? At any rate it's amazing to glimpse inside of this castle and I appreciate you taking us there. As usual You do a fabulous job showing the respect and care as you carry us through. Thank you! 'Bravo 👏👏👏 Sincerely Ninamosha ❣

    5. There were 2 Roosevelts who served as president: Theodore (Teddy) and Franklin (FDR). They were 5th cousins to each other. The ship would refer to Teddy, who was president from 1901-1909. FDR did not become president until 1933.

    7. It is interesting to learn that the French government, too, set up such horrific labour camps at that time. People hardly ever talk about it anymore.

    8. Why don’t you check the dates on the perfumes, so we can find out when and where they were made? And why not open the drawers—carefully—and then close them again? There are pieces missing from this episode. Why all this extreme caution? You’ve made it inside
