PIZZA is a not traditional food in Serbia. Pizza is fast food, italian food and world wide consumed and popular food.
BUREK, it is a popular food but we do not make it in our homes, instead of burek in the most homes we make GIBANICA.

You eat mostly in fast food stores. You should try food in some ethno restaurants or something or the best option on lunch in some serbian home.
If you want taste real traditional serbian food, what to order?.
1. Sarma(meat+rice+spices, roled in cabage)
2. Ajvar(maked from roasted and then cooked peppers+some spices)
3.Čvarci(melted fat but solid part that was formed during proces of melting)
4. Karađorđeva šnicla(meat filed with kajmak + eggs and flower, fried)
5. Pihtije(gelatin of pork meat and pork cartilage)
6.pie with greens(u can find it in every fast food bakery)
7. corn cake, salty(maked of corn flower)

Every home for any biger holiday make this lunch for visitors.
Sorry, i am borring probably, i do not want to write more.
Yes, every Serb ,Croat,Macedonian or Bosnian will tell you to eat burek with yogurt but it's not necessary. You can also eat and drink Coca Cola or something else to dissolve all that grease . I'm living in Canada and there is so many different burek to buy in local Serbian stores but they can never be as those in Serbia.
Nice…
test sarma, bela vešalica,karađorđeva šnicla,podvarak kupus,pečenje itd
best wishes and everyhing nice There…!
Im from Serbia-Yugoslavia region ❤
I don't like to travel but spending your retirement traveling the world sounds really cool. Welcome to Serbia!
Burek with meat is best .
In Serbia candy sweet is considered as too much sugar. The right amount is half of that because it's considered you should feel the taste of other ingredients, not eat a sugar bomb. If you try industrial sweets with decreased amount of sugar you would notice that other ingredients taste like cardboard.
