    1. along with sanitizing we put luggage in the bathtub and check everywhere for bed bugs– strip back the bedding, look under everything with a flashlight.

    2. Hello,
Love this channel. Look by the door, and usually, the cabinet attendant photo is on the wall. I leave a large tip at the end of the cruise. They work really hard.😊

    3. My parents cleaned a hotel room in their early 30’s. They would get so happy every time someone left them a tip, even if it was 50 cents. I vividly remember the joy on their faces. So if you can tip, please do.

    4. So glad I watched this before going on our first cruise on Celebrity Constellation last month. Our cabin , to be nice about it, was less than clean. If I hadn’t watched this video before going I would not have been aware of all the dust and debris behind the bed, bedside cabinets and sofa. The thick dirt in the patio door rails, the un vacuumed floor, the dirty marks on the bed valance/skirt and the foreign objects in the fridge. Housekeeping was extremely apologetic but we should never have had to call them in to address the problem. It’s kind of put us off taking another cruise.

    5. We asked for an egg crate on a RC cruise and our steward said they didn’t have them – ugh bed was REALLY hard! We won’t be cruising with them again.

    6. If the bed was a bit shorter I could walk through a little bit better. Stay away from the buffet leave your money in the safe not the casino

    7. I like to tip when I meet the cabin steward if Im asking for alot of things. I also like to ask them to provide a bucket of ice every day. I feel like tipping up front assures they will remember my requests and take extra special care of me and my cabin. Just me. I’ve found it works

    8. I also pack my hanging clothes on the hangers as i take them out of my closet. I always take a large suitcase so its easy to just fold the clothes in half still on hanger. Makes unpacking fast and easy and no need to ask for hangers

    9. Tipping the cabin steward at the beginning certainly isn't required, but it will definitely make you more memorable to the steward and might make their day a little bit brighter. A happy cabin steward usually means a great trip!

    10. First thing I do in a hotel or in a cruise cabin is to sanitize it. First thing I sanitize is the TV remote because that’s the first thing my husband grabs upon entering. TV is his thing. I check everything and set up the safe code and test it. I’m also the To Do List Maker in the family.

    11. Great video. My last cruise was 15 yrs ago. But when I go to an all inclusive resort in Cuba, I like to meet the housekeeping team for my section, and I always give a small tip at the start of the week. Like $5. This is also when I ask to have lots of bottled water stocked in my room, or if I forgot to pack something, So kinda the same ideas. I post reviews of anywhere I travel, even the BW in the next town, so room pics as soon as I get in the room are a must as I am always looking for the hidden dirt…. And always check the fridge for 2 reasons, does it work, and how clean is it? Mind you I also make a point of checking the safe for the same reason, is it clean, and does it work? Nothing ruins a vacation when you can’t get at your wallet because the battery died in the safe. But the fridge and bathroom are the 2 biggest clean checks for me, as my meds need to be kept cold, and if I have to clean up my own mess in the middle of the night, I don’t want to be cleaning up someone else’s disgusting mess with it.

    12. You are not being paranoid. You are smart to practice prevention. I wish everyone did. I sanitize the remote, drawer handles, closet handles, and door handles too along with everything else. Many people still do not wash their hands after going to the bathroom but will touch everything afterwards. Been doing this for years before the pandemic. Sanitize your hands before eating and certainly after touching utensils in the buffet and before you eat. People can be pretty disgusting and thoughtless especially those who do not wash their hands. The norovirus and other germs primarily spread by lack of good hand washing.

    13. We have put on the website that I needed a sharps container….it was not there when we got on so we had to request when we arrived….oh and if your room does not have a fridge you can request for your diabetic meds or any other meds that require refridgeration.

    14. I haven't cruised yet but we are planning one. However, I do wipe down on hotels and when flying. Going on a trip of a lifetime or something you paid a lot of money for, you don't want to get sick

    15. I like to spray all the walking areas with Lysol for walking around in bare feet-just feel better. Along with a little around mattress and comforter.

    16. Hi Liana..
I'm Lizzie. So I definitely sanitize the room in its entirety, including the balcony railing.
I also bring microban with me and spray the door handles once a day.
Believe me if I could microban the elevator buttons I would 😊
Thanks for all your GREAT videos.
      Blessings 🦋

    17. Loved the tips. Some I do already. Definitely going to bring some magnetic hooks. Loved that tip! One thing I do is I print up a 1 page document of my daily agenda. This lists out, by day, the excursions, times & where to meet for each day, times for off & on boarding at the different ports & any pre-cruise reservations I made with location & times (speciality dining, spa, etc). I tape this to the mirror above the desk so I know what to expect & times I need to be ready. This helps a me a lot to stay organized.

    18. I make life very easy for my cabin attendant. I want as few as possible visits to my cabin – towels don't need to be replaced daily, I can keep the space tidy, rinse around the bathroom & straighten my own bed. & I certainly don't need the bed turning down or shapes made out of towels.

    19. In my experience, hotels are no where NEARLY as clean as cruises are. I felt far more comfortable on the cruises I've been on compared to hotels I've stayed in.

    20. I also think two things are important to do first!! Before you go if you want to be in a certain restaurant or activity, BOOK IT IMMEDIATELY. So youll have first pick. Also review the activites brochure they drop off daily. So you wont miss any activities you want to do.
