    1. Nice up to date video – Hope to see y'all on the road – We are headed out to Istanbul on the 18th and will be visiting Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Bosnia and Albania for the next 2+ months – No Italy for us this time. Do get to South America – We did a 2 month Argentina, Uruguay Chile early this year – Only Uruguay was USA expensive.

    2. Great vlog.
As for you guys having planned Argentina prior, I remember you commenting how loud it was in Vietnam. Well, if you go to Buenos Aires, it's also loud. I rented an apartment in a brand new building, in the Palermo Hollywood neighborhood, and the traffic and other noise was so loud until I got very little sleep and I travel with earplugs. But, otherwise, the neighborhood was great and I loved Buenos Aires.
I was in BA in Dec 2008. I had planned to go to Buenos Aires in June 2009 as I go to Thailand and that region in the winter. But, in 2008, the Yellow Shirts took over both airports in Bangkok area and shut them down in protests, resulting in over 230,000 tourists being stranded. So, I had to cancel my trip at the very last minute and start trying to get refunds. For over four decades, since a teen, I have planned around politics, unrest outbreaks, virus and other medical outbreaks, etc in places around the world. I can shift gears in a split second. Thank goodness I travel solo.
Thai Air had so many cancelations until the refund money didn't get back to me for over a month. But, at the 11th hour, I needed to plan another vacation, during that same time slot, but without the refund airline money. I ended up planning only 7 nights in Buenos Aires, with the budget that I had left. I had originally planned 2 weeks in Argentina for June 2009. It's good that I had already done extensive research on Buenos Aires a year prior and thus was able to shift gears quickly and even get the same planned accommodations for Dec 2008. I had all the research information written down.
Buenos Aires was great, just noisy. The food was really delicious and I don't even eat meat or poultry, but the fish and vegetables were delicious. And the music, tango, and spirit of the Argentinian people was wonderful. I really hope you get there one day. And I also hope that you get to Brazil, the Bahia region. I was there years ago. One of my best friends from here even sold her house and moved there permanently, back around 2014 and is living in a gorgeous house right at the ocean.
I look forward to your next adventure. Italy is great and Tuscany is beautiful. I started going to Italy in the 70s, back in my university days. For a couple decades, I spent my whole summers in Europe, but up in Denmark as my main area and where I would rent a place for the summer and then would travel from there. ย
As for Italy, I've been in Naples, Vietri Sur Mare, Amalfi area, Rome, Florence, Venice, Treviso, Milan, and a lot of other areas along the way. I was last in Italy (Milan) in summer 2017 as I drop into more southern European countries during the time that I'm staying up in Scandinavia for long periods in the summer. I go south, for a while, for hot weather and really good food and then head back up to Scandinavia.

      Greetings from Los Angeles

    3. Really enjoy your reviews so helpful for future plans. Italy is on the agenda so looking forward to those videos.

    4. Wonderful video, as always. So looking forward to following your European travels. We spent a month in Tuscany in April 2022 (Florence, Cortona, Volterra, and Lucca, with day trips to several other towns) and while everything was wonderful (actually, we weren't big fans of Volterra…) we reeaaally loved Lucca. The historic old town is beautiful and it is surrounded by massive walls and ramparts atop which is an absolutely lovely path that we walked daily. Such a livable city. If you can get to Pienza for at least a day trip, do it. Thanks for all you do and cheers!

    5. Hi Guys do you have a minimum and maximum budget range for accommodation. I know it will be different for SE Asia and Europe and would be interested what your accommodation range is for both areas if you donโ€™t mind sharing. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜ how much time do you think you need to spend in SE Asia to balance the yearly budget against Europe. Sorry so many questions we are only about two years from hitting the road.

    6. We started our Nomadic journey the exact same time and we also plan to head back to Europe this fall. Scotland and Sicily! Looking forward to your videos-we are staying in Cefalu for the month of November:)then to Rome and London for Christmas. Cheers!

    7. I really enjoy your videos. Iโ€™m also researching accommodations for travel, and am finding that in many cases, Airbnb is now more expensive than hotels. Expedia is now doing a lot of monthly apartment rentals, and in some cases, is cheaper than Airbnb.

    8. Nice! so excited about your revised itinerary. You'll love Italy… Cannot wait to see you up coming videos… I found Italy expensive, like to see how you can see Italy on the cheap.

    9. Great video thanks for the info and update! Crowds might be higher at the moment but that will change… interest rates and economic slowdown will see to that organically. Stay safe!

    10. I am super excited about your new destination. I will be living vicariously through you guys. Have fun and thanks for all you share. Great example of how you just pivot versus quitting and going home

    11. Thatโ€™s great that you both will be heading back to Europe then Italy in the future. Please make a point to visit Naples, they make the absolute best pizza. Also, it is my understanding there is a town in Italy that is selling homes at an affordable price. You may want to look into that. BTW, Donโ€™t forget to pack sunblock, Carrie.๐Ÿ˜Š

    12. Glad to see you guys are doing great! While your in Europe, have you been to Albania, North Macedonia or Bulgaria? One of my favorite regions of the world and super cheap! The town of Ohrid in North Macedonia is super cute and chill and was getting some of the best wine in my life for 5/6 dollars at the supermarket!

    13. Thanks for another great video- it definitely gives an up-to-date lens for travel in 2023 and the changes that have occurred. I have been taking mental (and actual!) notes from your videos so that when my husband and I retire we have some great guidance and ideas for our journeys. We are military and currently in the WA area, so if you are ever headed back home to the US and find yourself with a free afternoon, we would love to meet you out for a beer and snacks!

    14. Having traveled to Mexico extensively it's a shame about the current safety situation turning off tourists, because it's an absolutely incredible country, one of my favorites. I really hope this gets better. Can't go wrong with Italy though. Are you planning to include the Italian Riviera (Cinque Terre, Portofino etc.?).

    15. Hey, would love to see you guys in Cambodia: Koh Rong, Koh Rong Sanloem, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap. We live in South East Asia and appreciate your videos. We just left Cambodia, quick stop in Singapore, and now in mid Vietnam for a month. Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, My Son. Keep up your fun travels!

    16. Wish you the Best for the next leg of travel. We loved Italy a lot and made 2 trips of 3 week duration. One was with Sorrento (specifically Sant Agnello as a base 15 min walk to Sorrento and cheaper to stay than Sorrento) and day trips to Amalfi, Positano, Capri Island, Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, Naples etc. This took us 10 days and the remaining we split between Santorini and Athens. Our Flt plan was a RT from DFW to Athens. Land Athens, fly to Santorini-> Santorini -> Paros -> Mykanos-> Fly to Naples (10 days in Sorrento – 1.5 hr bus ride from Naples airport for about 10 Euros),Then from there to Athens spend 3 days and back to DFW. If you plan properly the flights within Europe on Easy jet / Ryan Air can find as low as $45-50 with a carry on bag allowance. That was an awesome trip. The other one to Italy was Fly to Rome and visit Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre (the other version of Amalfi coast), Milan, and Lake Como. Even though we did Portugal, Barcelona, and Valencia on other trips, Italy was by far the best we enjoyed for the spectacular sceneries and would love to find a 2 month rental and see places on a more relaxed pace and get the best of Italy. Like you mentioned, Yes travel has gotten expensive and Airline deals are hard to come by and Air BnB is ever increasing. Looking for some deals for fall (after the European travel slows down) like to do a 3 week to land in Brussels and visit Paris and Amsterdam a week each. As always luv your Vlogs. Our Santorini trip was courtesy Your Vlog (even sat in the same bench you sat watching the sunset in Santorini). Looking forward to your next series. Cheers!

    17. Yes Travel has become expensive with every component of it (a/fare, BnB) going up. I know you guys mentioned that you have set aside funds and make it earn to fund the travel. Lately the US interest rates on the rise, even though the banks offer better rates on CDs, The Federal Govt's T Bills earn very decent rates and you can get as high as 5.4 % on 1 year investment which isn't bad considering the safety of principal and stock market being subject to volatility. Make your savings work better!

    18. Sounds like a great plan, we were in Central Europe last year and loved it. Maybe our paths will cross since we'll still be in Europe in September and probably October. We agree, beer and wine need to be the priority! ๐Ÿค—

    19. Love your videos!! Inspiring us to retire early ๐Ÿ˜€ I know you do break downs of your monthly spending but curious as to what your yearly budget is??

    20. I'm heading to South East Asia in January too but as a solo traveller. Going through all your videos looking for tips so this video is super helpful.

    21. My friend's ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜ขdog drank the water in Venice from a lake and it died in 3 days. She's in the military with family and there w were no warnings
Nothing about how bad the water is. The Italians wouldn't want to scare off tourists money …now would they?

    22. I can hardly wait to see your vids in Italy!!!! Italy is defintely on our bucket list! I'm hoping to meet up with you guys wherever you are in Feb/Mar 2025 when we're fully retired and start traveling!!! Love you both! Mmmmmwah! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

    23. Excellent country selection, you will love Italy and I look forward to seeing these places through your eyes. You are super travelers! Always wear a smile, as I say.

    24. ReLly interesting to hear your thoughts from your experiences of all that travel. Canโ€™t wait to see Italian videosโ€ฆ my very favourite country. Have a wonderful time

    25. In Venice, the restaurants in the high tourist areas were poor quality and overpriced. We had to use guidebooks to find the good restaurants.
