After a very mixed experience in Vang Vieng, I moved on to the city of Vientiane. Vientiane is the capital of Laos and by far its biggest city.
It doesn’t have the greatest of reputations amongst travellers who described it to me as boring and dull, compared to other capital cities in South East Asia. On my previous visit, I was a little underwhelmed by it and found it to be the least interesting place I visited in Laos.
But I was ready to give it another chance so I spent two nights in the city before my Laos visa expired and I had to return to Thailand.
Join me as I explore the capital city of Laos.
