The city of Heidelberg, located in the south, is renowned as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. It is situated in the state of Baden-Württemberg and is home to the oldest and most prestigious university in Europe. Additionally, it serves as a scientific hub with several Max Planck institutes. Heidelberg boasts a romantic cityscape and is famous for its iconic landmarks, including Heidelberg Castle situated in the northern part of the Königstuhl hillside, Philosophers Walk, and the baroque old town. During our visit, we climbed up to the castle’s ruins and enjoyed the peaceful spot, offering a magnificent view of the city and the River Neckar. Furthermore, the town is conveniently close to the Königstuhl, Gaisberg, and Heiligenberg mountains.
