Taking a ferry from TARIFA πͺπΈ TO TANGIER π²π¦
Good morning everybody welcome back to my channel I Mackenzie Nelson if you’re new here and I am in a really exciting place because we are in the most southern point in Continental Europe which is really exciting because it means we’re really really close to Africa and in Africa is a country I’ve
Always wanted to go to Morocco so we are figuring out today how to get a ferry across to Morocco and we’re going to travel around Morocco for a bit I’m traveling with my friend ly from Belgium you might have seen her in the last Vlog you’ll definitely see her in the next
Few Vlogs but basically we’re just having a coffee right now and then we’re going to go to the port and find some boat prices and fairies and try to figure out how to get to Morocco tomorrow and I’m very very excited for this country how do I express that I so
Excited we just came inside the port to look at like the different companies that offer the boats the fairies to Tanger and try to like find the cheapest price the best option for us okay it looks like there’s only two companies the F FRS that we saw outside
The port that’s 3870 and then the then the inter shipping Bo that’s blue so there’s a red and a blue one seems like the blue is only7 cents cheaper and they have different times so I don’t really think it matters which one so I think we’re going to buy a ticket for tomorrow
So we have that all settled out so it’ll be 38 each before we go ahead and book the ticket here at the ticket box we were just giving it a look online so there’s different ports in Spain that you could take a fery to Tangier the three ports
That I know of are jalter Al aler and then TFO where we are the TFO is just like I heard it was a really nice Town that’s why I wanted to come here first it’s the southernmost point of Continental Europe and it’s a really really short flight or short fairy
Hooray hurrah we just just booked a ticket we ended up going with the red company so they were just a lot nicer I just trusted them a lot more for some reason well the girl she was really kind anyways so we booked a ticket we’re going to Morocco tomorrow so so excited
It seemed like a really really easy process I thought it was going to be a lot harder but literally no worries at all we will go around and see where we can it’s a really windy town and it’s known for kiter because of how windy it is we’re getting blown
Away I was going to mention that tarfa might not be worth coming to if you could get the fery from aleris or jalter but this is actually a really pretty cool town really pretty cool town that means it’s super cool we’re trying to walk to the southernmost point here but
I don’t think that we could go all the way so I think this is the most southernmost point that you can get to we have the Mediterranean on this side and the Atlantic on this side and and somehow it’s like raining right now we can’t decide if it’s rain or if it’s
Like ocean splashing us cuz it’s so windy so here we are and here’s where we’re going tomorrow here’s Europe and Africa looks like we can’t enter the gate is closed but to our knowledge this is the most southern point of Continental Europe here we are we just
Came to um the castle Guzman Al Bueno Castillo 4 for adults but I’m going to try to prove that I am a student so I could pay only 150 I’m also unemploy unemployed which is free but I have no like proof of either of those so that’s
Quite hard but I got in for being a student woohoo well so included in the ticket is a guided t in Spanish we don’t speak Spanish nor can we understand a whole guided t in Spanish so we’re just going to go with it she said to follow
Arrows and Don’t Stray so we’re just going to walk around we think the castle was built in the year at 1340 that’s a long time ago begun 9 begun in 960 year 960 we just came to a tapas Park it’s our last day in Spain so we got to get Tapas in s Korea so Che for last day totally failed on filming it’s been really really good and we have shrimp coming um but we tried like Iberian H croates and calamari little sandwich
Thing with ioli and now some grilled vegetables so good it’s called Lola it’s quite close to the castle so you can find it easy but it is now like packed with people definitely suggest coming here for TAS All right we just came back to the hostel and I wanted to highlight this hostel because it’s actually really nice we found it on booking.com not hostle world but it’s called Tangier kit School tarfa hostel it’s actually really nice and it’s in literally right outside the
Gates of the old town so it’s perfect location really nice ni it’s really spacious I think that there’s like a bar downstairs it was reasonably pry but there’s a rooftop Terrace which I’m going to go up to now which is super cool you can see like the whole Old [Applause] [Applause] Town [Applause] [Applause] we just came to this place for dinner uh we’re just spoiling ourselves today with two meals out this is not a Backpacker budget anymore but we got another Sanga and we got some seafood paa because again it’s our last state in Spain so we
Had to get paa and we both haven’t tried real like seafood P so we’re pretty excited that’s really tasty that’s really good I don’t even know kind of see food there is fortunately it was β¬30 for the two person paa but it was really really delicious I think it was worth it
It was very good yeah very good all travelers are the same nearly there now it’s going to break on video let’s go to Morocco here we are we’re back at the fery station we’re about to get on the ferry very very excited very easy process so far I hope that immigration and everything
Goes fine from my understanding I don’t need a Visa as an American citizen to get into Morocco we’re all packed and ready to go to see the wizard the wonderful Wizard of us we’re boarding how do you feel so excited to get to Morocco
Woo we just got on the ferry and I think we’re both surprised by the condition of the fery it’s really nice there’s a cafeteria a premium Lounge got these big like comfy seats big Windows chairs that swirl this is really cool so actually water control for Morocco is on the
Ferry so we just got stamped into Morocco and we’re very happy to be here although we haven’t touched that on land yet but I think we only have maybe 20 more minutes until we get off the boat yay we’re pulling it to the port I think we’re officially free to roam Morocco we
Just touch down we’re going to walk to our hostel I’m going to put the GoPro away uh get settled into our hostel and then maybe go out for some tea later get some Dr which is the current see here we’ll see but I’ll take you along for today but welcome to Morocco everybody
Okay we finally made it to our hostel it was quite the mission getting here with a lot of stairs a lot of up and downs and trying not to have her pH obvious and out with our Maps but we made it it was very easy walk here we’re staying at
The Riad the Riad hostel Tangier something like that that we found on booking.com and we get free breakfast in the morning and it’s only β¬28 $31 for three nights which is such a difference than Europe and it’s very exciting we have a wonderful rooftop view so we came here first and then
We’re going to go get some DM and exchange our money and we’re we’re going to go and get mint tea and sweets and start our adventure here in Morocco here is our room basic bed bathroom shower cool Tile we just came to a cafe that we saw like a lot of people sitting at it’s like right in the center busy intersection to people watch Mostly but also to try some mint tea it’s really hot right now but it’s our first mint tea and we also got some sweets the mint
Tea is 12 de each we just came to um dinner that was like really really close to our hostel and also recommended by the guy that worked at our hostel called reef kbon reef kabani restaurant we heard that it was really good by that guy so we came here we’re like the first
One seated we didn’t know we need a a reservation so they sat us in like the underground of like like the street is right above us but it’s kind of cool it’s kind of like a little cave it’s cooler than upstairs yeah I think it’s cooler than upstairs but nobody’s here
Yet we’re just hungry how do you feel about the free bread so good all of like Spain you or and Portugal you don’t get free bread but they always put it on your table to test you to you know and if you eat it then you have
To pay for it and so it’s always sitting there haunting us but she just came down it’s like on on the house got lemon and olive tajine vegetarian Couscous cus whatever this broth yeah this broth is so good lemon chicken oh chicken is very good so good excuse it we just finished with dinner and that was so delicious everything was included with our couscous tajen and our drinks and a digested tea afterwards which was really nice and after dinner
Tea um all for2 200 I definitely suggest that place how do you how did you find it it was so good so good we’re so full but we’re going to go back to the hostel and go up to the rooftop and watch Sunset and probably knock out for the
Night cuz we’re really tired but thank you so much for watching subscribe to my channel if you like this video and we’ll see you tomorrow for another really fun day in Tanger bye
I surprisingly LOVED this cute town in the VERY south of Spain. Maybe it was all just because of my excitement to get to Morocco, but what a memorable ferry ride!

FAQβs β
-How do you afford to travel?
I have had 2 jobs since I was 15 years old and made sure to save at least 90% of that for travel and school. I always have a temporary job when I am home but hope to be able to travel full time to consistently make videos!
-Is traveling solo safe?
I want to say the answer to YES! With lots of caution to everything you do and following my βbasic backpacker rulesβ you should be able to remain safe! See here for my backpacker rules: https://youtu.be/SFKaxYND1OM
-What has been your favorite countries?
I LOVED Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and Ecuador. I know this is a lot but they are all amazing for backpacking throughout the country, meeting international friends, and keeping to a backpacker budget!
