🇫🇷 Chemin des Évêques
Autrefois Dol-de-Bretagne était le siège d’un évêché. La cathédrale Saint-Samson qui se dresse somptueusement en centre-ville en est le témoin. Il y a quoi de plus naturel que trouver un chemin qui s’appelle le Chemin des Évêques autour de Dol-de-Bretagne? Mais… Que faisaient-ils les évêques sur ce chemin qui est relativement en dehors de la ville ? Contemplaient-ils la nature ? Cherchaient-ils les preuves de l’existence du Dieu ? S’occupaient-ils de l’agriculture ? Ou simplement allaient-ils quelque part ?
Pas lointain de l’autre bout de ce chemin se trouve aujourd’hui le Domaine des Ormes. Au début du 14e siècle ce domaine était épiscopal et le château du domaine était la résidence estival des évêques. Donc, tout naturellement, les évêques arpentaient ce chemin entre la cathédrale et leur résidence pendant l’été.
Aujourd’hui aménagé en voie-verte, le chemin des évêques est un parcours très agréable pour le vélo ou pour la randonnée. Avancez sur les pas des évêques et profitez bien de la douceur de la nature et faites-vous accompagner par les cerfs de temps à autre.
🇬🇧 Bishops’ Path
Once upon a time Dol-de-Bretagne was an episcopal see. The Dol Cathedral which stands significantly in the city centre is the witness of these times. So what is more natural to cross the Bishops’ Path around Dol-de-Bretagne? But… What were the bishops doing on a relatively distant path from the city centre? Observing the nature? Looking for the existence of God? Cultivating land? Or just heading elsewhere?
On the other end of this path is the Ormes’ Estate. In the 14th century, this estate was also episcopal and its castle was the summer residence of the bishops. So, of course, the bishops trod between the cathedral and their residence during summer.
Today laid out as bridleway, the Bishops’ Path is pleasant to stroll either on a bike or on foot. Follow the bishops’ footsteps and enjoy the nature to your liking and let a deer family escort you off and on.
🇹🇷 Piskoposlar Patikası
Evvel zaman içinde Dol-de-Bretagne’ın dini yönetimi piskoposluk seviyesindeydi. Bugün şehir merkezinde bulunan Aziz Samson Katedrali de o günlerden kalmadır. Hal böyle olunca burada Piskoposlar Patikası’na rastlamak da işten değildir. Ancak şehir merkezine uzakça bu patikada piskoposlar ne yapmaktaydılar? Doğayı mı teftiş ederlerdi? Yoksa Allah’ın ayetlerini mi ararlardı? Tarım? Ya da sadece bir yere gitmek için mi yola düşmüşlerdi?
Bu patikanın diğer ucunda Ormes Mülkü bulunmaktadır. 14. yy.’ın başlarında burası da piskoposluğa aitti ve şatosu da piskoposların yazlık eviydi. Sonuç olarak piskoposlar da ev ile iş arasında gidip gelmek için bu patikayı kullanırlardı.
Bugün bir gezinti yolu olarak yeniden düzenlenmiş olan Piskoposlar Patikası ister yürüyerek ister bisikletle gezmek içindir. Piskoposların izinden, doğanın güzelliklerinden istifade ede ede gezin efendim! Hatta bırakın bazen bir geyik ailesi de size eşlik etsin…
