We are in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Saint Petersburg is the capital of the Russian Empire and the most beautiful city in Russia. So, we are in the very center of Saint Petersburg – not far from Nevsky Prospekt. Now we are crossing Ligovsky Avenue.

In this video we will visit not only museums, large shops and cafes, but also the simplest places – old cozy courtyards. If anyone is interested, I will say a few words about the city itself. Saint Petersburg is the capital and most populous city in northwestern Russia.

Almost 5.3 million people live in the city. This is like the number of people in Paris and Rome combined! 🙂 Saint Petersburg is the fourth most populous city in Europe (after Istanbul, London and Moscow). The climate of Saint Petersburg is humid, close to maritime, with moderately warm summers and fairly long cold winters.

The average winter temperature is -8°C (17.6 °F), the average summer temperature is +18 °C (64.4 °F). In dry, hot weather, the air temperature can reach +30°C (86°F). In winter there can be significant cooling: down to -30°C (-22°F). Saint Petersburg was founded in 1703 on the initiative of Emperor Peter I.

The city was created immediately as a work of art, as an open-air museum. The city was built by slaves, who were forcibly rounded up to build the city. They say that Saint Petersburg stands on the bones of the dead. During construction, several thousand peasant workers died from malnutrition and exhausting labor.

The city was built in a short time! I shot the previous 5 minutes of the video exclusively for myself, I love these types of views, but there are too few of them in the city! 🙂 Ahead is the central station – Moskovsky.

What am I doing here? I enjoy life! What a beautiful, cool morning! It will be quite hot during the day… Coffee here costs about 1.5 dollars. We went to the most important attraction of the city – Nevsky Prospekt!

To be in Saint Petersburg and not walk along Nevsky Prospekt is like not having been to Saint Petersburg. Nevsky Prospect stretches 4.5 km (2.8 mi) from the Admiralty to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra. From Nevsky Prospekt you can access all the main attractions of the city.

This is one of the best and richest places for shopping, buying souvenirs and of course evening walks! In my opinion, you can walk around the city at any time of the day without fear!! This is not Paris or London with gangs of thugs on the streets at night! 🙂

We walk early on Saturday morning, which is why there are so few people on the street! It says here: Teach me to live. In order to show some kind of philosophical postulate, you don’t need to write disgusting graffiti on the walls, just go to the theater! 🙂 Coffee from 1 dollar!

The cost of public transport is 70 cents. In a taxi (along Nevsky Prospekt in the morning) – 2 dollars!! I want to cross Nevsky Prospekt, something caught my attention on the opposite side… This is the North-Metropol coffee chain. American owned.

There are only 2 apartments here. Everything is wide open! Who should we be afraid of? Let everyone be afraid of us! :):) (Russian joke, if someone doesn’t understand). This is some kind of mini hotel from 15 dollars per night. This restaurant is open 24 hours a day!

There are mainly small shops and hotels here. What a pleasant smell! And the birds sing… This is a Hotel. This is Mayakovsky Street in the direction of Nevsky Prospekt. KFC 1.7 dollars. This is a Hotel.
