Tasting Spain: Central Market Food Tour in Valencia
¡Hola chicos! Welcome back to our channel! In this video, we’re doing a food tour inside the Central market of Valencia We wanted to make a video that shows the food offerings in here and what experiences to await when walking into the market Let’s get crackin’
As soon as you enter, you’ll immediately see this stall with a purple sign It’s called, Afandi Delicias del Sultán and they sell Middle Eastern food They have chosen the best from the candy factories in Istanbul Look at all these yummy things! the prices are not bad either
Baklava is the crown jewel of Turkish sweets, and they take pride in its mastery of this layered pastry. Thin sheets of dough, filled with a generous layer of chopped nuts and sweetened with honey or syrup, create a rich, flaky delight They also serve food on the go Like Uzi, Mutabal, Hummus
Shawarma sandwich, musajan, kibbe, etc Then right next to it is this store you can find different kinds of sandwiches If you like simpler sandwiches, you should see the next one Here at the market, you will find the jamon places offering “bocadillos”
These are freshly baked bread, warm and crusty, encasing thin slices of exquisite jamón (cured Spanish ham) and they’re €2.50 each What makes these sandwiches a must-try is the simplicity that allows the quality of the ingredients to shine
As you watch skilled vendors expertly slice the jamón, you know you’re in for a treat Each bite is a symphony of textures – the crunch of the crust, the tenderness of the ham, and the burst of flavors that dance on your palate
As you walk around some more, you’ll notice some stalls with these This store always has great olive oil samples this half are oils that have hints of the aromatics and fruits this half are made from different types of olives the flavors can range from peppery to spicy
You can sample turrones too! A timeless delight, Turrón features a harmonious blend of toasted almonds and honey, bound together in a crunchy nougat Let’s head on over to the Vermut bars So you said Boqueron is the one with salt water? Yes, with salt water. And this is Wine of Summer. b
Vale! this is my favorite, Tinto de verano. Yes. And then this is beer with wine, right? Yes. You can also dive straight into vermuts and explore it’s varieties – blanco, rojo, or rosé! You can also sample some olive oils together with their bread and sausages
Pure magic! Cozy vibes, vibrant locals, and the rich aroma of Spanish tradition There are stalls here that do food to go, cafeteria style and you can indulge in the exquisite world of bacalao, or salted cod the market weaves its culinary magic into a variety of dishes
We love buying veggies from this cute husband and wife team! Guess what this stall is selling Fun fact: Only Paella Valenciana is called a paella… the rest are called “Arroz con cosas” (rice with stuff) you can get these for €6 per portion more jamon bocadillos!
You’ll also see chicken dishes cooked on the grill or in this case, in an oven there are pasta dishes too You don’t need a lot of money to eat here this place is the best example they serve tuna sandwiches for €1.50 including other pastry dishes like empanadas
Their ingredients are as fresh as they come… especially in this area! The freshness of seafood at the Central Market in Valencia can be quite high The market is known for its emphasis on providing fresh, locally sourced produce, including the seafood we got to sample some oysters and garotes (sea urchin)
Some of these guys are still alive! Fun fact: this is actually where most of the chefs in the city buy their ingredients from Let’s try the sea urchin first a toast to the bountiful sea! OMG it was so fresh! Ever wondered about the magic behind Calabaza Asada?
It’s more than just roasted pumpkin; it’s a taste of the Valencian sunshine! Fresh, local pumpkins slow-roasted to perfection, infused with aromatic herbs and a dash of Valencia’s love for bold flavors The result? Tender, caramelized goodness that’ll transport you to a culinary paradise! Oh yeah! You can find craft beers here as well!
This place serves toastadas topped with fresh ingredients from Latin America. You’ll find every ingredient you need from Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Cuba, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Honduras and Mexico. Now also products from Africa. Here’s a live demo of how the toastadas are made! He gave us a homemade spicy condiment Yum!
Okay I think it’s time for dessert This place may look like a regular jamon spot but… If you’re on the hunt for the best cheesecake, these guys are a contender Look at all this creamy goodness! If you’re craving for authentic Spanish desserts, look no further than Dulces de España
Where the pastries come from all regions of Spain “Dulces de España” was born as a loving tribute to their grandmother who was a native of Santa Fe, a small town in Granada Ensaimadas from Mallorca Tarta de Santiago from Galicia and Casadilla from Oviedo a bunch of local desserts! they tasted so good!
This is Torrija from Madrid, the Spanish version of french toast This cheesecake was to die for! Only €3.50! If you’re still hungry, you can visit this take away place It’s called Infraganti and they’re artisanal pizza makers They also serve traditional italian food to-go Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs!
