Tasting Pizza ALL DAY in Naples, Italy
Good morning from Explorer Of The Seas today may possibly be our most anticipated day it is mine for sure and I am not joking you I could not sleep last night cuz I’m like a kid on Christmas morning I’m just so excited for this pizza we are in Naples Italy
And that is the pizza capital of the world and we’re going to get some good pizza today let’s take a look we’re docked next to this MSC ship there’s a Viking ship uh you can see the city down there you can smell the pizza wafting over here looks like there’s a fortress
Smells like tomato cheese flour like it smell the mozzarella smell I’m getting some basil um also there’s like a um celebrity Beyond is beyond our vision over there but let’s go out there and eat yes and explore of the Seas explore of the Seas
Okay we made it off of our ship and we are here there’s a there’s a fortress over there castle noovo and then we’re heading into the city now into our first pizza stop but this is why cruising is amazing because last night we went to sleep in
Sicily basically just had dinner went to sleep and now we wake up and we’re in Naples napol it’s that that’s this is why cruising is the best it is the best as we were sailing into Port the morning we passed by the volcano Mount Theus and I have an irrational fear that
This thing is going to erupt I don’t know we read some articles that said that it’s been like a little earthquak here yeah I don’t know I I think a lot of people do an Excursion to go to Pompei I mean on a future cruise I would
I would love to do that yeah I definitely want to do that but um but Pizza is the number one priority yes of course okay we’ve been walking all the way from Port we’re almost at our first stop we’ve already walked a mile and a half so we’re really going to be working
Off this pizza okay here’s our first stop this is La mardona mardona this is Maradona okay so it looks like we got the English menu and we’re inside here looks like this one is a table service okay so we got our first pizza look look
At this this thing look at the size of Brian’s hands and look at the size of this this amazing this is the normal size a small this is the normal size they now they told us to um use our hands but we’re going to cut it in half
Yeah cuz this is gigantic we’re breaking the rules in the first stop yeah should I just like stab this WOW oo okay okay oh oh do you see that steam do you see that oh oh my God it smells so good it was really funny because she she brought it
Out in a bag yeah she had a plate and a bag and then she went it was a wow moment it was a wow moment so okay we’re going to 10 our place our plan is to go to 10 places okay 10 pizza places 10 10
10 stops on this on this route today and it’s an efficient route like we’re starting at one point and it’s going in the most efficient route to the our like a half circle our 10 places now our plan is 10 we might run into a situation where something’s closed or we’ve eaten
Too much pizza we’re going to throw yeah we Keel over I don’t know um but that’s our plan so um also um oh you want to look at the inside I really do wow so we got the marinara that’s gorgeous so our plan is to get Margarita Pizza in each
Place but um here their specialty is fried pizza so we we got the fried marinara of course it was the closest to like a margarita pizza that they have we’re going to basically be getting Margarita at each place but this place this is a specialty so we have to get
This yeah I think you need to eat it I really do I’m going to use my hands now okay I’m not going to touch your side yeah oh oh it’s hot okay this is going to be Messy it’s funny how it was really like puffy when we started but then you cut it and it like all that steam goes away wow this is my first pizza pizza in Nies so this a big moment it really is the thing that really stands out is the
Crust like it’s really like the main taste you get really like the dough yeah it’s it’s really good um it’s I’ve never had anything like this before you know what I mean because it doesn’t look like there was much cheese in it is there yeah I the main um
Flavor you get is is that it’s a really good crust or the dough or whatever but yeah I’ve never had anything like this um it’s essentially like a huge pizza roll you know yeah it is really hot I want to take a peek inside you know it kind of looks like
Brushetta with the like the tomatoes the way that they are look at that you got the steam coming out I’m going to take a bite from the middle cuz you were talking about the bread and it seems like the bread’s on the outside the tomatoes are on the inside so I’m going
To be a Savage okay good wow right from the middle that’s a great great way to do it that’s so good yeah of course the steam spewing out like a volcano my little uh pizzas erupting right now we got the diced tomato we got some garlic in there looks like m i can
Trast it we got some oregano looks like maybe this is good yeah it’s good it does taste a little bit like a pizza roll but obviously it it’s way elevated yeah it’s more it’s more the predominant flavor you get is really just that good dough
Good dough yeah I ate it until it was a nice smiley face because that’s how I feel about this I’m from Middletown Delaware and the Christiana Mall in Delaware used to have amazing Pizza when I was a child and that pizza place unfortunately moved when they remodeled the food court and I
Have been chasing the feeling of eating that pizza ever since because that was the best pizza I’ve ever had my family to this day we talk about Mall pizza and it’s like it is the best pizza we have all ever ate in our entire lives wow and
This is the closest I’ve ever felt to eating Mall Pizza really yes so good so this was uh mardona Mas mardona I’m sorry I will never know the pronunciation but which is why we’re calling it stop a yeah so that was stop a and um we’re on to our next stop now
Something cool about that place is they have pizza for breakfast because they open at 700 a.m. breakfast pizza I think they know um the tourists you know might have a flight or you know might be jetlagged or something so that’s actually why that was our first stop is because we knew
That that place would be open and our next stop is actually a place that’s open very early as well okay we made it to our next Pizza Stop This One Stop B it’s Pizzeria Totino looks like their specialty here is that uh wallet folded pizza portolio so we’re going to get
That of course here’s what we’re getting here Pizza uh ptoo €2 okay so this is stop B okay where we’re naming the stops AB c d Etc because we want to rank each spot so we’re going to give like first place second place third place um after as as
Actually as the day goes on we’re going to like say this place is better than that place and then like at the end it’ll be like this is first place so saying like oh this is our first location it’s kind of confusing yeah we would be like our first location is in
Fourth place or whatever that’s just made up but like that would be confusing yeah so we’re doing stop a b c so this is our second stop stop B this pizza is so hot we’ve been having to play like hot potato with it it’s burning my hands you should eat it it’s
So it’s the folded Pizza it’s the folded Margarita Pizza it looks like all the locals go here oh my God people were coming up right after we ordered and just like placing money and it’s like the woman already knew what they wanted almost just like throwing it’s like so

Soupy Center is going to be really soupy I want you to get through this part so that I can get to the soupy Center so the place right behind Brian this Totino that’s where we went I do prefer the places that are Quick Service here because we’re on a quest of 10

Here yeah you I I got a I’m going to get a cheese bite right here cheese Bite coming in M it’s different that improved it yeah I knew it would at first I was like this isn’t the best pizza I’ve ever ever had oh once I got that cheese now I’m like okay

All I need the only way to walk around Naples is with a wallet of pizza it just honestly it feels so funny walking around with this and I’m like especially if you C as we’re walking to the next Pizza Stop I got my watch got my wallet you’re good to go
Well we found our next stop because of the huge crowd this is the most famous place here in Naples uh it’s Pizzeria d d Melle something kind of funny is there’s a huge line here looks like they only opened 12 minutes ago um just a huge crowd over here and
Then across the street we got this place that looks like could be using some business we got some servers just standing around Empty Tables over there meanwhile everybody’s over here for this one they wish their pizza was as good as this place yeah this is the most popular spot
To come will it be the best I don’t know why is that is this the one from Eat Pray Love This is yeah this was in the movie Eat Pray Love so we’re going to get the margarita it’s 550 and then I guess a Coke Zero there’s the inside here here’s all
The awards they got on their door tons of Michelin Awards this is pizeria De Michelle this is the most popular place when you go online and you look at like the best places in Naples this place always shows up this is where Julia Roberts ate any pray love so let’s let’s
Take a look at this here it’s like I’m holding a baby or something you are ooh ooh la la W look this is going to be a soupy one you see that that so soupy we got one piece of Basil on there this is our cheesiest pizza yet though
One one sad piece oh of Basil it’s a happy piece of Basil you see look at this um look at that soup there yeah that’s good though I don’t know they actually did cut it thank God really good leoparding on the crust but it does really soft and fluffy yeah will it be
Chewy I don’t know I’m just going to oh yeah eat it like an animal I’m eating this like an animal oh man oh this is supy this one’s soupy I don’t know how I feel about that M it’s the messiest it’s the cheesiest um the soupi uh the

Opinion no I know I know how I feel personally there’s nothing I hate more than messy food yeah but when it’s Pizza it’s worth it let me paint a picture for you guys here it’s it’s the smell of pizza and scooter exhaust this is really good but because it is so
Soft I do kind of agree like the the stom B had a crispy crunch to it yeah that I liked better I shouldn’t take this into account but the hardness to get the pizza it’s chaos it’s absolute chaos and that really detracts from the experience but this is good I’m going to

Foot trying to get by it’s just absolute madness here um this was a this was we were in the line and then cars came through I like how they have a sign that says no fake pizza with a knife I guess that means if you cut it it’s fake I don’t
Really know but that’s what it seems like to me look Bill Clinton was here yeah it’s really funny we got the popular place right here huge crowd and then we have a barker down there trying to get us to go to the less popular place barking at everybody in line here
Maybe try to have better Pizza yeah it’s not working everyone wants to come here they’ve read about it online apparently it’s better we’ll see so this is stop D absolutely Insanity here again we got the folded Pizza it’s so crazy look at the crowd behind Brian that’s the people trying to
Get pizza and this is the tightest smallest little Alleyway it was two2 it’s getting we’re at the fourth stop we it’s already it’s taking a toll um here here’s here’s what we got here we got the margarita yum lots of sauce not much cheese look a lot like stop be one basil
Look at the the the leoparding over there wow not very even spotting no also this was like in a stack of pizzas so it’s this was in a stack I’m going in right in the middle of course it’s the way to do it okay don’t tell me how you feel in terms
Of ranking this time no crunch okay on that crust it is a soft soft crust cuz bee had a little crunch I thought I want to see what you think it’s absolutely Insanity here again this is the DMO eating by a trash can that’s what they want you to

Actually just a 4minute walk down this street it’s really funny at the last stop uh it was € and we don’t have much uh cash so we had a 20 and some change tried to give the guy a 20 for the2 pizza and he’s like he’s like come on
He’s like come on it’s two years come on so I was like digging we had take through the change like it’s funny it’s like that’s the kind of vibe you got the GU like really come on I think it’s because there was such a long line he
Didn’t want to try to give you change yeah but I mean hey come on I don’t have much cash here so we’re at stop e what was supposed to be stop E I think due to the crowds and it’s not takeaway pizza it’s sit down pizza we’re going to skip
This one and keep going we’re cutting it from the list it’s just little too crazy would it would take forever it’s hectic so uh this is actually taking longer than we anticipated and we’re actually cutting another thing from our list too we had another that was like really far out of
The way the reviews were amazing but it’s just it’s way too far we it’s not on our path like I mean it is but it’s like really far out of the way so we’re cutting two places so far so it’s not going to be 10 anymore it’s

Because we just walked right up we asked for a pizza there weren’t any crowds they were super nice to us because they were like oh this needs to be warmed up and they went warmed it up for us gave it back they served it with a smile they
Did I think so far the service was the best here yes let me open this bad boy up oh wow look at this we got that olive oil and the sauce not much cheese this is most mostly sauce it’s kind of it’s the same mostly sauce and olive oil here
I think yeah the other Porta figlios that we’ve had not not much cheese on this one no basil we basically went online before we came here we did a lot of research trying to find the best places obviously there’s a million places here but we did our best like we
Looked at so many like here’s the top 10 list of in Naples here’s the top three we looked at Google reviews we looked at a ton of different things we compiled this list and then we had a lot and then we there’s some there like way outside
The city we can’t do it and like our feet can only work so hard the top ones that like worked on our route that’s how we compiled this list exactly and I think we did a good job of course it’s a hard thing to do okay let me I’m
Going to go crust first okay this one looks like the crusp is like uh little Browner yeah great leoparding here crunchy I like the crunch I like the crunch a lot I immediately had the Crunch and then the softness which I like okay I like to hear that you can
Taste the CH I like the taste of that CH you know I like tasting that going for the middle now the soupy Center M okay I’m really excited to eat this okay what I like about it too is that I already liked it because of how nice they were to

This is actually making me want to keep going car car’s eyes just got wi and she shook her head because I know the other place we were going to go to was had something similar to this it almost is rejuvenating me in a way this one’s good

Honestly going to say a lot of this pizza is very similar yeah like it’s so so similar whereas like when we did this with the keyme pie things were different I feel like things were really different yeah so it’s hard to distinguish the difference between all of these yeah in second place is

Debark because we were not able to get a flight home at appri time tomorrow so we’re staying the night in brome and then flying out the following day yeah but what’s great is we can do this excursion now and now we can explore Rome which is nice Rome is a place that
You should have an Excursion so what’s cool is they took our luggage so from what I understand we go on the Excursion tomorrow and then at the end they’ll give us our luggage yeah I think the luggage is probably going to go in the bus with us yeah and then okay

Oh, guys!….Naples is NOT the “pizza capital of the World”…That would be New York City! (And I actually had the best pizza I ate when I was traveling in Italy in Bari…such a lovely experience I still remember it almost forty years later!)
