Our winter trip around Sicily continues. Today we will travel along the eastern coast of this largest island in Italy to the town of Taormina, located on stunning cliffs just beneath the Etna mountain. One of the coolest things about this place are the stunning view of the towering volcano on the horizon – especially now in January when it is, as the tallest volcano in Europe, covered in ice.
But that is not all, once we climb some 250 meters in altitude, we will explore picturesque little streets of the old town, its numerous towers and churches and piazzas and eventually, enjoying a nice cup of Italian ice-cream, we will head out to the ruins of the ancient theater for some more stunning views.
