BEST THAI STREET FOOD in BANGKOK THAILAND – 9 MUST TRY STREET FOODS in Bangkok, Thailand
Okay we have finally made it to Bangkok, Thailand. And Gokce and I have decided, of course, what’s the best way for us to travel around the city is to eat its delicious food in all its different neighborhoods. As we start walking around this market, we bump into this amazing restaurant
And we saw a lot of Thai people were dining here so we’re like “it must be a really good place!” and when we entered inside we saw how lovely it is decorated. They have very much a street food environment so it’s like an outdoor space (and semi- outdoor I would say)
And we just ordered our first foods here. One of them is one of my favorites, which is the coconut soup traditional style, which is I believe called Tom Kha Kai (something like that) and we also ordered Pad Krapow.
We thought that it would be a great start to start eating those two dishes and enjoy this beautiful place! Wow, that’s so good. The whole greens mixed with the rice… It goes together so well. We weren’t joking. It’s definitely tie spicy this time. Right off the bat it’s like waking me up for sure.
That’s why I got a nice Thai coffee to wash it all down and take out some of that sting. Pretty good actually. it is like a normal coffee especially because I got it without sugar.
That’s a pro tip for anybody coming to Thailand; if you’re not a big sugar person, always remind them no sugar & no syrup, it’s very sweet here. Ah… Nothing like the first food you have in the morning… Wow, the sauce that it has in it – I don’t know what sauce it is…
Oyster sauce! Okay… It tastes really good blended with the rice. So glad we stopped here, it’s amazing, wow! Look at this soup! Oh my God. It has a lot of shrimp in it. We ordered with seafood so they actually put a lot of calamari as well.
And I’m so excited to dig. This is… I would say maybe second or third of my favorite Thai food in general. We’re going to have my favorite one later today, but… This coconut flavor is amazing. Definitely – with the sour taste in the seafood tastes amazing.
I don’t even know how to describe it of course we’re not gourmet, we’re just trying food and having fun here so… Don’t judge us! There are so many herbs in it, tomatoes… Ooh is this octopus? Maybe! This is an amazing market. Literally, you can find anything and it’s not just food!
There are clothing, there are bags, there are different textile stuff and like… There’s just so much to do and of course when you are getting tired of shopping, you can get a street food and eat some food. Easy peasy!
We came to the main street here in Wang Lang Market to try out a bit of a lunch dessert if you will… it’s called khanom thang taek Khanom thang taek I believe… A lot of this was made by commoners for commoners in older times, it is similar to certain Turkish Street Foods as well.
It’s really cool to be able to try try out the Thai version of that. And it was just 20 Baht for the coconut one and this is an egg Yok version for 15 Baht. They’re sort of considered to be waffles but not quite and they’re fresh out of the oven!
There’s like… Even with the egg Yok, there’s still like a cream… I don’t know if that’s quite coconut but it’s really delicious. I like it a lot. I don’t know if you’ll like this one per se, I think you’re going to like the coconut one better. Wow, surprisingly, I actually like it a lot!
The creamy taste is definitely like… Um… It is giving you kind of like… You know, like the the cake cream you eat on top of the cake! That’s where that white is coming from I feel like, and of course it’s a very very sweet dessert,
And I agree that I might like the coconut one more, but this tastes also really good. Look at all the coconut, and I believe they are using some seeds on it. All right I’m so excited to try this because I love coconut. Since I like coconut, of course, anything with coconut excites me so much.
Let’s try! I talk too much. When you’re biting into it, crunchy coconut taste is there, you’re actually chewing a coconut. It’s so fresh, it’s so well made. I’m mind blown! Look at this. This entire piece is coconut and just a little bit sweet and that’s it with sesame seed. It tastes amazing!
Well, it’s kind of lost in translation, but I was trying to ask for one but they give me five, which is okay. And there is supposed to be some corn in some of them, and some uh herbs in another one. And it seems like the one I’m about to try has some corns in it.
It’s mixed with coconut as well and it’s so hot. It’s like a little pancake. Mmmm. This is actually not sweet! It has it a little bit sweet but it’s a little bit salty taste with herbs in it. Definitely not a dessert like. but it’s really good food to have on the street!
Okay, after finishing up a Wang Lang Market we have come across the river by boat for just 15 Baht over to the Khaosan Road area here in Bangkok for what we hope to be some of the best Tom Yum Soup Gokce has ever had in her life.
There’s actually two Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu on this block. You want to go to the one directly behind us right in front of the parking lot. I’m really hungry. Gokce is really hungry now. Let’s go get some delicious Thailand Tom Yum soup.
This place is so popular they prepare the Tom Yum in a giant cauldron basically that just bubbles up all day, and they keep refilling the stock and dishing it out as people come and order it, because it’s that popular (that famous) here! I am very excited to try this because this is my favorite Thai food.
And we are here at the place in Bangkok where they make it at best! I mean look at this! This this is definitely for more than one person and I’m glad I’m sharing with Steve.
This is a huge plate but it looks so good. It’s creamy, and as you can see, it’s going to be a spicy experience because I can see some red peppers on top of it! And I’m very excited! I can’t talk anymore if you don’t mind me I’m going to start right now!
So good! I order Tom Yum soup every week in New York, and no offense to my favorite restaurant in New York, but this is definitely amazing! You can taste all the flavors and it’s mixed with shrimps and red pepper… And oh God, it’s just so good!
Damn these prawns are huge! Look at the size of that. I don’t think I’ve seen prawn this big in an American Tom Yum ever! Yeah there’s so much in here – beans, sprouts, Morning Glory, a whole host of peppers, and it’s really creamy and delicious looking! Damn that’s a freaking delicious Tom Yum Soup!
Now I’m going to dig into the Thai omelette that we got as well. The omelet is a little bit darker in color because they cook it in its own oil and kind of add the oil on top to make it expand and bubble up like this,
And it looks so cool! I can’t wait to try it. Wow! Crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. So delicious! I don’t usually eat omelets but I’m curious. I’m just going to have one bite if you don’t mind. I think you can go for it! We’ve shared the soup, right?
Can you cut one for me? – Sure. Thank you. Let me try with the sauce actually. All right, let’s see how it’s going to taste like! Is it a hot sauce or sweet sauce? I don’t know. All right. – Good luck! Should I ask her before I try or should I be bold?
Hot! – Hot sauce! I love hot Sauce. Honestly, it already tastes amazing without the hot sauce, but hot sauce definitely adds a good flavor on it. If you don’t like hot sauce you can just eat it like that (plain) perfectly fine. It’s just amazing, wow! I did not expect that I would like an omelette!
Surprised! All right, after Tom Yum you can come down over to Khaosan Road it’s literally a 5 minute walk away. Also if a lot of the stuff nearby of Khaosan is not your cup of tea, there are a lot of temples – the Golden Palace is over in this area as well,
Only a short taxi right away. So there is plenty to do in the Khaosan Road area after getting some delicious Tom Yum or before! Look at this!! Truth to be told, we saw these crepes in Mark Wiens’ video in Bangkok, and I got so excited because; A) I like crepe B) I like coconut
And this is perfect sweet dessert for after dinner. And when I saw them making it here I got very excited! So let’s try and see what it tastes like. It has the taste of sweetness and the coconut, and I love coconut, so it’s actually win win!
I’m having a coconut dessert, what else can be better? And with a pancake! It’s a little bit crunchy outside. This is hot like a taco when you bite it. It kind of melts in your mouth immediately, so you don’t feel like it’s like too hard to bite in. It’s really cool
This part of our street food tour is actually about going through Chinatown here in Bangkok, and Chinatown has some of the best street food in all of the city, including the uber famous Jai Fai right behind me. You might remember her from Netflix. She wears the big goggles while she’s cooking up incredibly delicious street food.
The problem is you need to book her a month in advance in order to get a seat. It is just something to be prepared about, but we’re going to go check out some other delicious street food that they have here right in Chinatown Bangkok.
Of course, we had to come to Bangkok’s most famous spot to try out Pad Thai because, you know, the original at ThipSamai. And unfortunately right now, its dining room is closed until 5:00 p.m. and they’re only serving at dinner time inside.
So we’re doing takeaway right out here on the street. Perfect for a Bangkok Street Food tour though, right? All right! Let’s see what we have here. We have the Pad Thai here there’s like a shell on top of it. I believe this is egg. I am not 100% sure, but it’s definitely looking really cool.
One shrimp for me and one shrimp for Steve, and this a heart shape. This is all for 155 Baht, it is definitely on a little bit of a small portion size. – Yes.
But, you know, it’s enough now for right now for us, and they gave us some red pepper. Without even trying I’m going to put the spice on it. And dropping some peanuts on it. Love peanuts! I’m going to add some veggies on it as well.
I put a lot of lime on the shrimp – I can tell. We only have one chopstick. Either we have to share or Steve has to go get another one, but I’m going to start! Wow this is definitely different than any other Pad Thai that I’ve tried.
The orange part is giving a little bit of fishy taste. I don’t know what they use we have to check it out, but it’s has very different flavors. I really like that. And the problem is; I’m going to like it so much to the point that I’m not going to like regular Pad Thai anymore.
Well this is actually the original to be honest. – This is…? Yeah this is like their famous legendary spot for Pad Thai. I like it man. You need to try it.
Definitely not the Pad Thai that we’re used to in the US or that we expect. It has nice kind of thick sauce on the noodles, and of course because Gokce added is a bit more spicy than it should be right now. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Pad Thai ever but…
Well, it’s the best one… Do you think so? -Yeah All right, well Gokce disagrees with me, as per usual. It’s really delicious though I can see why it’s so popular. It’s nice and fresh. It’s actually cooked in shrimp oil so that’s why that fishy, super juicy, and flavorish taste is coming from.
Steve and I were secretly thinking “who’s going to finish this?” “Who’s going to finish this?” I want to eat it” I want to eat it! And I came here not too hungry, so surprisingly I’m still not very willing to give this plate back to Steve.
Okay so we made it back to our hotel after a little detour through Chinatown on a Tuk Tuk that was awesome. Gokce was kind of hoping to do that for the longest time but that’s the end of our video here.
We had an amazing time eating all this delicious food here in Bangkok and we cannot wait to go now and explore more of Thailand. So see you on the next one don’t forget to subscribe, of course!
Made it to Elephant jungle sanctuary and it’s an amazing spot here. They rescue elephants whether it’s from logging or from the circus. They really take care of these elephants and allow them to live out their lives peacefully away from the circus. This is a romantic experience for sure… You need to try it!

Tayland videolarının devamını heyecanla bekliyorum ❤
Some very tasty foods! Thailand never disappoints!!
Chinatown has the best food in Bangkok! Glad you visited there as well
I agree with Steve's assessment of Thipsamai – I wasn't a fan of it at all. It has WAY too much of a fishy taste due to the shrimp oil. I couldn't eat it at all despite how popular the brand is with tourists. I much prefer the smoky taste of Fai Ta Lu, which has a Michelin bib gourmand recommendation. I think that is the best pad thai I've had in Thailand, including more "authentic" mom and pop restaurants and stalls.
Bu videoyu bana babam izletti İngilizceyi çok bilmediğim halde videoyu çok beğendim yemeklerde çok güzelmiş Sizi tebrik ederim Gökçe abla ve Steve abi. Ben Ceren
I'm sure it's definitely not bean sprouts and morning glory. It's lemongrass, galangal, added flavor (we don't eat them) and mushrooms. And that Pad Thai It doesn't taste as delicious as before. Most of them are tourists who go to eat, not Thais.
A reaction of You both made me starving 😅😅😅
Tungtaek dessert with coconut topping is the original. The egg yolk topping just came up in recent years. It's delicious!
🇹🇭 All Thai curry should eat with rice, because they are strong taste. ✌️😁
🇹🇭 Kanom Krok (coconut cream pancake) should seperate a pair of it before eating, becuase it will burst when biting.
😍Seeing Thai food on your channel at night makes my mouth water!😋🤤
🥺God, help me!

Absolutely love coconut. Egg yum. More coconut yummy. Delicious pancakes. Soup looked yummy. Love omelettes. I would have had a Coke to wash it down with. Delicious coconut crepes. I am so happy she loves coconut like Me. You went to Chinatown and did not get the world famous Chinese doughnuts WOW. Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish
Normally, Thai people eat tom yum or curry with rice. If it is another type of food, then You can tell the seller that "mai ped"(not spicy). If you don't like spicy taste
Thai soup eat with rice, so delicious
What was the name of the restaurant in Wang Lang market… ? Location… ?
Thailand is on my bucket list! Bangkok has so much food to offer and Chinatown seems like a great place to stop by. Thanks for taking us along.
ยินดีต้อนรับนักท่องเที่ยว
I tell good news for you, coconut lovers.
Eating coconut can remarkedly reduce your chance of getting alzeimer disease.
