Tauber Trail Bike Ride. Romantische Strasse. Rothenburg to Wertheim

European River rides the Romantic Str this is the tabba trail northwards from Rothenberg and like most of our European bike Adventures it starts by us crossing the Humber Bridge to Hull picking up the ferry across to Rotterdam we’ve never been keen on using the replacement ferry across the river Mass uh to mass loose so this time we came along and used the mass Tunnel Rotterdam Central looks magnificent from the outside and from the In we only gave ourselves an evening to look around nurburg but what the was of it that we saw was very nice that was okay to the west of nurenberg we crossed over the ryin main donow Canal the temperature was about 35° c as we pedal westwards across from Newberg

Towards Rothenberg good the official start our trip very good we have just about everything we need do we serving wench grapes wine oh wine and uh ham cheese broad grapes crisps plenty of supermarkets on the way and this lunchtime picnic with wine and cheese and ham bread became a a staple of our

Trip very Nice ansbach was a lovely place and has a very interesting if not a little bit dark history you can never really tell in advance with the open street maps if the track’s going to be hard paved or if it’s just going to be a I don’t know

Quality through the woods sort of a Track we stayed the night in lto Housen which was home to a guy who they claim flew before all villain Wilbur did the weather the scenery the tracks just super Del looks we were very relieved even to the point of slowing down a bit when the track went into a bit of Shade we reached Rothenberg as planned late morning just in time to have our picture taken along with everybody else at the gate House Rothenberg is an ancient wall town that has has a cover over the wall and it’s a great walk Round don’t fall down the all the whole place is a bit like a set from a Harry Potter Movie we had a day of rest and exploration in Rothenberg and then we set off North on our official bik ride up the TBA tal the tabba Trail rothenberg’s official full title is Rothenberg up de tabba Rothenberg on the river tabba and we left the same way as we came in and then descended down into the tabba valley where there was a dopple brook a double bridge amazing once you’re out of the Town itself there’s nobody

About we guessed that house had never been Flooded Little Timber Bridges everywhere so Beautiful If you’re planning to come here on a bike don’t plan too many miles in each day because there’s so many things to hold you up always things to See Leadless to say as it’s Germany the tracks were Spectacular morning hello the tbaal was the first of the five-star cycle tracks in Germany good very good coming up lunchtime find a Supermarket lunch by the stream nice and Shady of an afternoon too that’s good organization He there up that Hillside what is it series of steps up to the church was it this was at Bieber eron though to be honest I don’t think that’s how the Germans would pronounce it this PA is just so good that I can’t stop filming it I know it maybe looks

The same to The Observer but GE it’s just fantastic hm think I may have mentioned it at tabber rheim we stopped to look at the baltazar no man Brook and at vikhe we stopped on the Shady Side of the square for a beer oh the best laid plans of mice and men Bridge

Closed so we had to continue for a while along the south side of the river I don’t think it’s coincidental that the track designers take the track through a lot of little very beautiful Villages so that you can spend all your money there we stayed for night at BD mgen

Time came in the porch there into the Castle Gardens seems to go miles this place I believe is the lovely talber Bishop’s Home hello a beautiful old signal box redone into a house fabulous oh actually we should be up there Think we’ve overdone the hammer bit in the morning’s purchasing session at Ru do you think wife probably just to show that we are along the river sometimes alongside of I strongly suspect ECT that a lot of this track routing was along an Old Railway Line we said goodbye to the river tabba and crossed over into verim where the tabba joins the river mine community art project little optimist he seem to get everywhere last Bridge Crossing of the day was over the river mine and up to our digs thanks for watching both of you

Biking along the Taubertal, part of the Romantische Strasse. The Tauber trail was the first of the Five Star Bike Trails in Germany and still remains the Best one. Only short (2 days) it goes northwards from Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber to Wertheim where the Tauber runs into the R. Main. We extended this trip by starting at Nuremberg.
