Florentin: Tel Aviv’s Enigmatic Side | A Unique Walk from the Central Bus Station
Tel Aviv, April 2024
Let’s start our fascinating walk from the Central Bus Station "Tahana Merkazit",
where every day hundreds of buses depart or arrive from different parts of Israel.
The bus station area is considered the most criminal.
There are always a lot of criminals, foreign workers and African illegal immigrants here.
I left a link to a video about the bus station – Architectural Monster
Well, we are heading to the hipster area, where Tel Aviv youth rent cheaper housing and hang out.
There are tons of bars, cafes, a wonderful market, tattoo parlors, galleries and a lot of cool graffiti.
Florentin is the main party district of Tel Aviv
Before reaching Florenin we can already meet furniture and various interior showrooms
In the city, right in the central areas, global reconstruction of logistics routes is underway.
Large-scale work is underway to update the infrastructure.
Provision is made for replacing conventional sewer and storm drains, laying power lines underground, and cleaning the water supply system.
New lines and metro-tram stations will appear on some streets
All this will also lead to favorable development of the area
I wish speedy reconstruction and prosperity to Tel Aviv!

This will greatly help me and our city!
Florentin is an unusual combination of antiquity and modernity.
Walking along Levinski Street, we will plunge into a world where history and modern life mix.
Here, old buildings intertwine with new projects, and narrow streets lead to amazing workshops and shops.
Like many southern areas of Tel Aviv, Florentin has long been in decline
and was considered an unfavorable outskirts of the city.
Because of this, the rent here was very low, which began to attract young people here in the early 90s.
Nowadays, Florentin is considered a hipster area, where Tel Aviv youth rent cheap housing and hang out.
The bicycle is practically the national transport, especially among local Florentines).
Not only does everyone have it, but everyone uses it even at short distances
Repair and sale of bicycles can be found in every quarter, or even two
The Florentin area is famous for its artisans and craftsmen.
Here you can find everything from fabrics and furniture to unique accessories.
The streets have their own specialization, which makes walking around the area even more exciting.
Try to walk along Wolfson Street and appreciate the variety of chandeliers and lamps,
or stop by Kfar Giladi Street for a selection of stylish jewelry.
Unlike the touristy Carmel Market, Lewinsky Market is mostly visited by locals.
It’s smaller, but in my opinion, much nicer.
The shops here are neater, among them you can find vegan cafes and small shops for spices, flowers, etc.
Levinsky Market has been around for over 100 years.
Lewinsky’s Market is a condiments market, a nuts and beans market, a kitchen utensils market.
A walk along Nahalat Binyamin Street will be included in the tips for you
Crossing Herzel Street
The Florentin district has, of course, larger borders than on the Google map,
but this is where the border begins from Herzel Street
write in the comments if you know why
Livinsky Street, along which we crossed two districts, ends.
We exit on Eilat St, along it you can walk to the Clock Tower in Jaffa
On the other side of the road is the wonderful Neve Tzedek area and the old railway station.
You will find the video in the tips
We will continue to explore the Florentin area. Through this industrial zone we will exit to Abarbanel street
I hope that the reconstruction project for the industrial zone is already on the table of the city’s chief architect.
Write if you know something about this
Another question that doesn’t have an answer: Things that weigh here on a dusty street cost from ~$20.
Write, who knows what kind of boutique this is?
Abarbanel street
Perhaps the sidewalk is too narrow
HaRav Yizkhak Yedidya Frenkel street
If you were looking for a man who is always drilling, here he is.
You can buy vinyl here
Most bars in Tel Aviv open only in the evening. By the way, most of them have happy hours since opening
When walking along Florentin, you must definitely pass along the street of the same name
Its full name is David Florentin Street.
It is named after a Jewish journalist from the Greek city of Thessaloniki,
one of the founders of the Zionist movement of Greece
By the way, the quarter is named after a close relative of David Florentin – Solomon Florentin.
On this street, as well as in the entire Florentin quarter, there are many drinking establishments
and various musical and entertainment venues.
I recommend!

Tnx for one more amazing video ❤
A lot of the charm in southern TA comes from the delapidated industrial areas – they add a lot of charm
Thank you! You captured the essence and ambience of this part of Tel Aviv. As an Sabra who made yerida as a child I still have memories that brought me back watching this video.
Nice. Some parts are similar to the Fort area in Colombo Sri Lanka. Old buildings, commercial areas, shady-looking characters, etc, . Wonder what this area looks like at night. How your people move around in these challenging times is most striking and heartwarming. 👍👍✡✡✡✡✡
