Katikies Santorini | The HOTTEST Hotel in Santorini (full tour in 4K)
Some highlights before starting the tour! The journey starts from the Santorini (JTR) Airport. The International Airport of Thira (JTR) serves daily domestic flights from Athens but is also connected with many international airports around Europe. The hotel had previously arranged transfers from the airport. Our driver kindly assisted us with our luggage. I opted for the normal taxi, priced at 50 euros, over the limousine option, which was priced at 100 euros. The taxi it’s very clean, spacious, and even had water available for passengers. Katikies Santorini is located in Oia, the most famous village of Santorini island. The hotel is roughly 11 miles (18 km) away from Santorini Airport, which is about a 30-minute drive. Upon arrival, a hotel representative will assist you with your luggage and escort you to the hotel. Katikies Santorini is located at the beginning of the main pedestrian road, 300 feet above the blue waters of the Aegean. Katikies hotel it’s renowned for its unparalleled services, which offer a sense of pure luxury and opulence. Katikies Santorini it’s a member of The Leading Hotels Of The World. At the reception, you are greeted with a drink of your choice. Since check-in isn’t until 3 pm, we were invited to relax and enjoy the views. We could sip on a cocktail or have lunch at their Lower Deck Lounge. Let’s see what’s on the menu! The beers are priced between 8 to 11 euros. Let’s have a look on the wine list! For an energy boost, I chose to order a coffee. For lunch, I decided to go for the Beef Smashed Burger, which came with potato wedges included. Complimentary bread and fresh Greek olive oil are offered. Now that our room is ready for check-in, let’s head over there. We were upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite with Open Air Jetted Tub. The suite is 45 sqm in size and offers a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, a veranda with Caldera view and an outdoor jetted tub. Let’s go inside! The classical Aegean details, together with the Caldera view truly captures the essence of a Santorini escape. The private verandas offer unobstructed sea views that harmonize beautifully with the Oia houses and the blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Why not indulge in the views from your jetted tub with a glass of champagne? The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. Now let’s go into the room details. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a bottle of champagne and a delicious selection of sweets. Complimentary water is offered daily to guests. You have the option of in-room dining, available from 11 am to 11 pm. Our suite features both a sink and tub bathroom, as well as a separate shower and toilet bathroom. The amenities are from the renowned luxury brand Bvlgari. Bathrobes and towels are available for your convenience. The bathtub boasts a stylish and romantic design. The second bathroom provides a toilet and a shower. The shower is equipped with both a rain shower head and a power shower feature. Bvlgari shampoo and conditioner. At the mini bar, you can find snacks and alcoholic drinks available for an extra charge. Complementary coffee and tea available. Nespresso-branded cups. The fridge is located under the mini-bar. Evian water, beer, champagne and soft drinks are available. Slippers, a hairdryer, and a laundry bag are provided. On both sides of the bed, you have power outlets, light controls, and space to store your belongings. Let’s take a hotel tour! Fantastic location on the caldera’s edge in the center of Oia, just inside the pedestrian-only zone. Here, you can indulge in fine dining at the consecutively Michelin-starred Botrini’s restaurant. Renowned Greek-Italian chef Ettore Botrini sets the tempo for an amazing gastronomical experience. You can make a reservation at the restaurant even if you are not a guest. As you walk in on your right you can find the reception. Note the colour of the steps. If they are white or stone, it is a public area, but if they are grey, you are entering private residences or hotels. Beautiful views all around. On the left is our room. Going back to the main stairs, to reach the first pool. The fine-dining options you will come across are Katikies Lower Deck Lounge, Katikies Upper Deck Lounge, and Botrini’s Restaurant. The Katikies Upper Deck Lounge lies here on the higher level, and its sun-beds are spread around a lagoon-shaped infinity pool. Since the pool is not heated, visiting out of season might be chilly. The peak holiday season in Greece is from early July to the end of August. Below the pool, there is a beautiful veranda where you can watch the sunset. I will return here later in the video to watch the sunset. Let’s go few stairs down to the next pool. At the Katikies Lower Deck Lounge, you can dine around the lower large infinity pool, with the deck hanging over the cliff. It has options for all-day dining, with the caldera view perfecting your experience. Breakfast is served here at Champagne Bar By Fleur De Miraval. Both pools offer incredible views and provide a relaxing atmosphere for guests to unwind and enjoy their surroundings. Returning to our room to prepare for dinner after a beautiful day spent at the pool. The iconic whitewashed buildings of the island are bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Dinner ready! Returning to the Upper Deck Lounge for the sunset spot I mentioned earlier in the video. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Moving to the Lower Deck Lounge for dinner. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and quiet. We’re having dinner at Champagne FLEUR De MIRVAL. Let’s see what’s on the menu! As a starter they offer you bread and fresh Greek olive oil. I ordered the Grilled Chicken with zucchini puree, basil, grilled avocado, and buttermilk. After a good night sleep let’s enjoy breakfast! Breakfast takes place at the Lower Deck Lounge. Breakfast begins with a steaming cup of coffee, fresh juice, an assortment of bread and pastries, accompanied by butter and jams. The breakfast is a la carte. Lots of options! I chose the Eggs Benedict! Very very delicious! Having breakfast with such a stunning view is truly a perfect escape. For dessert, I chose the Caramelized Tsoureki, with coffee-flavored whipped cream and apricot jam. Being so conveniently located, after breakfast, I decided to take a walk to explore some of the most famous spots in Oia, Santorini. You can easily explore the winding streets of the village directly from your doorstep. A pedestrianized marble pathway leads into the center, just a short five-minute walk away. Judging by the crowds, it seems like a famous spot. Let’s take a closer look. Indeed, it’s the famous white and blue churches that we often see in iconic Santorini photos. Enjoy some drone footage of Oia town.
