Standing at the heart of Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage city, is the cathedral, its spires visible from afar. The Walhalla, also known as the valˈhala, is a hall of fame dedicated to honouring worthy and notable figures in German history, including "politicians, sovereigns, scientists, and artists of the German tongue"; as a result, the celebrities honoured come from Greater Germany, which encompasses a larger region than modern-day Germany and, in the case of several Anglo-Saxon figures, even as far away as Britain. Located in Regensburg, Germany, the Historic Sausage Kitchen of Regensburg is a restaurant serving German cuisine. Perhaps the world’s oldest continuously operating public eatery, this one is noteworthy for that reason.
