🇫🇷 One Day in Provence, France

[Music] good morning from Kad France here in the historical provance region in Southeastern France just notice this Fountain built in 1806 across from the Airbnb we’re staying at look at this just walked out the door today and we’re staying right over there apparently the fountain was a major milestone for for women in this small village because before the creation of these fountains they had to travel long distances to do the washing just wanted to give you a taste of Cadet today as we explore several other areas of provance yesterday was quite a rainy and cold day here’s another Fountain so you can tell this Village was built long before cars were ever invented and they are quite delightful to walk down but very stressful to driveth through so yesterday we took a tour of a a nearby truffle farm and so that was really cool to get the full history of how he ended up farming truffles and got to see the dogs find the Truffles and it was a fascinating experience got to do a little sampling tasting of some truffle little truffle or derves but this whole region of provance which technically the actual region is pance Alps kotur it’s like combines couple other regions but historically the region of pance here Southeastern France has a massive and varied history the Romans came through the Greeks so a lot of influences on the architecture and just such an amazing region [Music] [Music] now we’re in the small town of Apt about half an hour away from Kad hoping to find some some lunch before we check in to our next place and do some more exploring around provance La all right table all right okay Sam’s very happy to eat lunch but uh they have limited options for me so she will enjoy a some kind of potato cheese pie thing and I will enjoy a salad we saw this these remember in that other Village and I thought it was a flower base it’s for water you could put flowers in there as well they really did uh make something delicious for me though here mix salad with rice R and Sam’s potato pie with cheese thing but look it just looks amazing see how it tastes [Music] [Music] so now we’re at the ochre Cliffs of rouson which is an old area where they used to mine ochre which is this reddish orangish pigment that you can see you can see they used to incorporate in the building of the houses in the town and so the the outside the stucko the exterior has the same color as this ochre it’s a very popular tourist attraction here tons of tour buses tons of people but you can get ice cream you can get an ice cream cone at the ochre Cliffs and Sam is probably going to do that but if you’re Jessie you don’t like to wait in line for 10 20 minutes behind cords of tour buses to see nature but it is beautiful if you can ignore all the people [Music] [Music] so we have seen the ochre Cliffs and now we go see rouson rouson so far it’s a little too crowded for me I for apt and Kad I I don’t understand why some towns in prance seem to be a lot more popular I guess this has the The Cliffs the ochre Cliffs so that makes it a a must stop for the buses and the masses but like kadun and maybe apt gets crowded it was a bigger town but when we were there for lunch hardly anyone there but I just something about being overrun by tour buses and tourists like steals the charm of these these quaint little Villages but the good thing is there are plenty of other lesser known Villages or lesser trafficked Villages I guess that are just as beautiful and have just as much character and charm we’re about to check out this place called The Rock of s but it’s starting to rain and we don’t know if we want to be in the rain we just went shopping at an organic market called bio and bought all that stuff and and then Sam said she doesn’t know if she wants to cook dinner and then proceeded to look at pictures and menus of local restaurants so then she said well we could cook that tomorrow but I got these uh hazelnut things which are vegan but they do not taste as good as they look and they are much smaller so that’s the update it’s asparagus season there’s Tomatoes The Bread is good some uh vegan yogurt for breakfast but who knows if we’ll be eating this right now who knows if we’ll be ending our day looking at the rock of s kind of like looks like it’s going to keep raining and we did persevere through the rain yesterday so should we do it again today I don’t know well the whole point is to climb to the on top of this rock thing which now is going to be wet so we’re not going to be able to I don’t know if you can climb onp I read you could climb to the top oh okay but obviously probably not a good idea in the rain I don’t know that looks good good right that pasta dad doesn’t look as good as what you can whip up with these amazing vegetables you have in the back [Music] seat infamous

We spent the day exploring a part of Provence, France, known as The Luberon. This wonderful, historic area is full of quaint villages on scenic hilltops overlooking the French countryside.
