Top 5 Rides at Europabad, Indoor Water Park | Karlsruhe, Germany

Europabad is an interesting indoor water park in Karlsruhe, Germany. This park has a small lineup, as there are just 8 water slides in total. 2 are for kids and 6 are for adults. Of those adult slides, 5 are body slides. And all 5 of those slides are wild and quirky. So in this video, I will rank this water park’s top 5 attractions. I know this is a much shorter list than I usually publish, but the slides here are so odd and exciting that they deserve some discussion. 5) Tarantula- This is a body bowl slide, but it has a much different set-up than usual. Rather than going straight into a big drop, this one has an extended bit in the dark to build suspense. Then you pick up speed around a swooping drop right. This is immediately followed by a sudden drop left into the bowl. The directional change is great. The bowl is mild, but there is a multi-colored spider web lighting effect on the ceiling that looks neat. Once you slow down, you need to push yourself into a second slide to exit the bowl. And depending on the current, it is possible to experience this backwards by mistake which is super disorienting. 4) Wildwasserfluss- This is the park’s lone outdoor slide and it has elements of white water rafting. It’s a body slide with a turbulent course with a fast current, which compensates for the slide’s lack of height. You are pushed into this sharp bends, causing you to bounce off the walls. This is also paired with large splashes. The two elements together make the slide quite chaotic in a good way. Then there are two additional quirks. There are splashdown pools breaking up the slide segments, so you need to fight the current to push yourself into the next section. Additionally, the trough briefly splits into 2 sections at points. They run parallel and aren’t all that different, but it’s still cool to see. 3) Green Viper- This is yet another body slide. This one has an awkwardly wide trough and I swear this may have been a tube slide at one point. Especially since the course does something I’ve never seen on a body slide- it has a mini tunnel like those ProSlide Tornado Alleys. It’s bizarre stalling on a wall element while lying on your back. And it sometimes caused me to continue the slide backwards, which was extremely disorienting while lying down. Beyond the funnel bit, this slide has another sizable drop shortly after and the experience is plussed by some lighting and visual effects. There are buttons at the start that let you pick your program, but I didn’t notice any variation between them. 2) Aquarocket- This is a trapdoor body slide and the park’s most extreme attraction. You enter a self-operated capsule and press a green button when ready. A few seconds later, you drop without an official countdown. This creates a lot of suspense. The initial drop is large and steep, resulting in a great freefall sensation. Then there’s a wide turn with great speed and decent Gs. This slide is super short, but it’s a rush. And despite its power, it manages to remain smooth start to finish. 1) Sky Surfer- This is a rare stand-up water slide and it’s such a unique experience. You can get a running start and glide down an ultra slick trough. It feels like you’re zipping along an icy surface. It feels out-of-control. It’s a physically demanding ride where you need to keep your balance. The handrails are your friend. Otherwise, you could wipeout. The faster your start, the wilder the slide is. The unbanked turns have some strange and satisfying laterals. Then the final splashdown is an element in itself as it tries to tip you over. I have an entire review if you want to learn more about this odd slide, but the novelty makes this slide pure fun. So those are the top 5 slides at the Europabad indoor water park.
