Bordeaux, France Is Beautiful… But Look Closer 🇫🇷

What started as a search for Bordeaux’s famous canelés turned into a full day of discovery. In this video, we walk through beautiful streets, grand landmarks, wine history, and the Chartrons neighborhood to uncover the side of Bordeaux, France that goes far beyond the postcard.
We begin on Rue Sainte-Catherine, one of the city’s busiest and most famous pedestrian streets, where we stop for authentic Bordeaux canelés and coffee before making our way across the city on foot. Along the way, we pass Fontaine Saint-Projet, Galerie Bordelaise, Place de la Comédie, the Grand Théâtre, and the striking Sanna sculpture before heading into Chartrons, the neighborhood that played such an important role in Bordeaux’s wine merchant history.
In Chartrons, we explore Rue Notre Dame, visit Saint Louis Church, stop by Place Picard and its unexpected Statue of Liberty, and step inside the Musée du Vin et du Négoce to learn how Bordeaux became one of the most famous wine cities in the world. From old warehouses and merchant buildings to the Garonne River waterfront, this walk gave us a much deeper look at the history, trade, and character that helped shape Bordeaux.
