I know there’s pros and cons to all three of them but I’m pretty undecided to which I want to get this would likely be for between three and six people

Those giant tents are a project to put up. Look into pop up tents. Colemen make a 4 and 6 man decently priced and you don’t have to thread poles. My advise is buy an xl duffle bag for after the first use so you don’t have to wrestle it back into the tiny bag. Hope this helps, have fun!

  2. Might want to check the tent pad sizes at the campgrounds you plan to camp at, some sites won’t fit tents that big, others are just open flat land and can fit any sizes tent.

Otherwise for these giant inexpensive tents I’m sure they’re all fine, and also a pain to setup.

Don’t forget to get some seam sealer too.

it did not say the 3rd one with screen room was instant up or not. I have one about that size that I love. Sams Club, so likely made by Ozark Trail- looks quite similar. But mine is instant up– that is now my deal breaker on tents. Old tents used to take 45 minutes to put up. I can put up mine by myself once spread out in less than 2 minutes. Timed it.

I do recommend the rectangle one, #3 IF instant up, because I’ve run across several tent pads at campgrounds that barely accommodate its size. Those others look larger and may not fit.

  4. I have the Bass Pro version of the last one and it’s easy to set up. Easier with help but also doable by myself. I also have the 6 person version too. They work well and I’ve used them in pouring rain without leaks. The big version comes or should come with a fabric room divider, if that’s important to you.

The others have a different shape that might make them harder to put up.

Agree on the instant tents. Game changer. Bought the CORE 9 person on Amazon. Cheaper than what you are looking at and better reviews
Also have Coleman tent that has been great as well

Ozark trail has several easy up tents. Look like the third picture. Hands down the best tents I have ever owned. Some even have the led lights in thier poles

Biggest factor on all 3 are they only have single wall design and a small cap style rain fly instead of full fly that goes to the ground. It will rain on the sides of the tent, which will get in through the bottoms of the zippers, and capillary action will pull in more moisture from anything inside that touches the tent walls. Ask me how I know 🙂

    Short answer: #3

  8. I can weigh in here, we have the L-shaped tent in your second image. We have been using it for three seasons now. Mainly 4-5 day trips at least 4 times per season.

If it is just one person setting it up, you are gonna struggle. You will also struggle if you HAVE enough people, but don’t follow the directions.

When done right, 10 minute setup including tarp under tent and staking down. Another 10 if you want to use the rainfly and have the covered front porch. It has held up very well over the years, but because of solo setup, I would have chosen a different tent. I got it on sale for 135 dollars years ago.

Make sure to use your guy-lines. All of them.
