Entry and Exit Problems at Palma Airport? (Mallorca, Spain)
In this video, I’m alerted to Entry and Exit Problems at Palma Airport in Mallorca, Spain, just as I’m leaving Bristol Airport on my flight back to the island, at the beginning of May 2026, right at the start of the Summer holiday season.
Find out what problems I can see at Bristol Airport in the UK regarding seating and the lack of air bridges in bad weather. Plus, see what my experience was landing at Palma in bad visibility on Ryanair.
*NOTE* If you wear headphones on a flight, please make sure you can hear the emergency announcements.
You will also see several flights arriving at once at Palma Airport, with passengers heading through Border Control and the entry and exit system. See how quickly the queue moves and if it’s the same experience as was reported.
Finally, we’ll check out the luggage hall and taxi availability on a Saturday night.
Let me know what your experience has been arriving and departing from Palma Airport, either here or on the Facebook page or group.

One compensation living in N Ireland is our entitlement to an Irish passport! To be honest it still feels slightly odd producing a passport with a harp on it but effectively we are all a wee bit Jason Bourne! Queues? What queues? 😂😎
its nightmare in aug every year, this year going to be crazy,
I need to book special assistance on arriving at palma, how do you get through the ees machines do you get taken to a different queue?
I have to say that I am worried about the EES, I couldn't stand for hours. Thanks for your update.
ME and my family are going to Benidorm at the end of June, i am absolutely dreading the EES part of the journey there.
Have to say that my experience of ‘clearing’ the EES at Majorca, Ibiza and Malaga has all been very positive. The only issue is that people arriving all seem to be channelled initially to the ‘registration’ gate even if they have previously registered….those who have already registered their biometrics should be advised to proceed straight to the boarder control gate.
Palma airport is one of the reasons i've not been on Mallorca for a few years now. I was never away from the island between 2007 and 2022 barring a one or two years inbetween but that last couple of times it was far too crowded, and it will be even worse now since the roll-out of these dumb EES machines. I think the island needs another airport up north as Tenerife has. Mallorca is a very popular destination and the only way to keep crowds under control would be another airport, somewhere close to Alcudia/Pollensa areas. It would relieve pressure at Palma.
I've just arrived back after a few days in Mallorca. No real issues on arrival , I had been through Alicante the previous week so no need to to get finger prints done , scanned passport and took only 10mns . The person I was with had to register their finger prints but was only 10mns behind me .
Waited a further 5mns for suitcases but the biggest wait was for people to arrive on the transfer bus with Jet2 – this could be a real nightmare for some transfer company's..
On our trip back it took only 5mns to check suitcases in but about 15mns to get through passport control. All the machines were off so we had to queue for kiosks . Once that was done it was fine. Arriving and departing on early flights I did think it would be a lot worse that it turned out to be . We waited even longer longer to get through passport control on arrival back in the UK.
I was going to come over this month but changed my mind , just sold my place in Mallorca actually think its been a good idea .
Bristol airport is a joke!! I flew from there on 19th April and 2nd May. Both times it was packed with nowhere to sit. People sitting in corridors. I know its being reconfigured, but not a lot of thought gone into it I believe.
EES: I flew into Palma and then into Fuerteventura. Honestly, it was a great experience in both airports.
Both were very early flights though and palma was a Sunday morning flight.
Hope others have stress free experience as I have
Just got through new fingerprint scanner and passport control in about 20 minutes. Going to take 2 hrs to get to our hotel 😂 😢😢😢😢😂

We arrive on Saturday with my daughter
A bit nervous about it I must say but pretty good at keeping a calm head in a stressful situation so hope that helps 🤞🏼

I'm due to fly back to Gatwick on Saturday morning. So if I need somewhere to kip on Saturday night I'll email you! 😂 I've warned my boss I might not be back in time for work Monday …
Landed at palma today only issue was unclear about the finger print system, if you have already done the fingerprint in Europe you dont need to do it again
The Madness is just beginning …. The whole system is collapsing everywhere due to IT hacks !!! 3-4 hours delays expected from mid June until September.. Please keep updating

Last September was confusing with the new layout, lot's of walking . . . not looking forward to ees at all next week! Palma airport used to be so easy. What happened??
We travelled May 2nd and returned May 6th as a large family with young children and elderly grandparents. Jet2 flight Birmingham to Palma and return. Evening flight out, mid day flight back home. It was all seamless, no issues whatsoever, whizzed through security and customs into Majorca; then quite efficient with max 15 min queing time out of Majorca. I was expecting the worst based on all the scaremongering online, thankfully experienced none of it. Weather was unfortunately quite bad, cloudy and windy and poured down Sunday morning for a couple of hours.
I'm arriving on the 9th May got to confess I'm dreading EES because I have a cruise to catch
Why don’t you just come back to the EU? Then there wouldn’t be any checks anymore. I think it’s a real shame that the UK left.😢
We went through Palma on the 3rd May without a hitch. It took 3 or 4 minutes to do the proceedure, hardly any wait and the airport was really busy with several planes all landing close together
Yes, I saw your previous flight video. I don’t think I’ll be touching my dinner tray next time I fly either. 😆😆
I wont be returning to mallorca again after 26 visits because of the nigjtmare EES
No problem on Tuesday lunchtime no ques straight through fingerprints and e gates
Came back to the u.k. on 25th April and no doubt the best passage through the airport we have ever had (from any airport). So it looks like it's just luck !
Just glad we don't go there any more lost its appeal now! so expensive all round. You can go Mexico all in for around the same price you will end up forking out for Majorca.
It’s really not that bad, went through it today, it was fine.
We arrived into Palma on 5th May. Having already been through the EES system earlier this year at Malaga Airport we headed straight to the e-gates. When we scanned our passports we were not allowed through and had to join the long queue to go through the whole EES registration again!
Returned home on Monday 4th may, absolutely seamless. No problems at all.
