Today’s daily update video from South Africa is on 29 October 2023. In this video, we show you the roads flooded outside of Port Elizabeth after the rain over the weekend in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. We also show videos of the rain in Waverley, Pretoria, and a few videos across South Africa where the World Cup win for the Springboks was celebrated last night and we visit a few more places across South Africa.

Weather forecast across South Africa today:
Anticipate the occurrence of destructive waves, which may result in temporary interruptions of beachfront activities and pose challenges for navigation at sea. These conditions are projected to affect the stretch of coastline spanning from Cape Columbine to Plettenberg Bay. A significant weather event is anticipated in various regions of South Africa. Severe Thunderstorms are forecasted to occur, resulting in the presence of strong gusty winds, intense rainfall, and substantial amounts of small hail. These conditions are expected to affect a wide area, including most parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the southeastern regions of Mpumalanga. Additionally, the central and western parts of the North West, as well as the central and eastern parts of the Free State, will experience strong winds. Stay prepared and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this weather event. Anticipate the occurrence of disruptive rainfall in certain areas of the Wild Coast and the nearby interior of the Eastern Cape. This heavy rainfall may result in the flooding of settlements, roads, and bridges, causing significant disruptions to both daily life and livelihoods. A forecast for grade 12 pupils: There will be strong winds in the area stretching from Alexander Bay to Cape Agulhas, which may pose challenges for navigation at sea. A highly potent cut-off low-pressure system is anticipated to impact the southern, central, and eastern regions of the country starting today and lasting until Wednesday. Brace yourselves for a spell of chilly to extremely cold temperatures accompanied by wetness and gusty winds. In the upcoming days, we can anticipate the occurrence of snow in various regions of South Africa. Specifically, the high-ground areas of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, eastern Free State, and the extreme southern highveld of Mpumalanga will experience snowfall. It is important to note that the northern high ground of the Eastern Cape, as well as the western high ground and Drakensberg region of KwaZulu-Natal, may encounter more significant snowfall, which could potentially cause disruptions.
